Final Respite
One of two merchant towns established as neutral ground between the Alliance and the Empire. Named the FInal Respite by the people of the Alliance because it was seen as the last bastion of civilization before entering the untamed Sacred Lands and the so-called beastlands beyond.
Demographics
While natives of both the Alliance and Empire live here, the vast majority of residents are originally from the Alliance. While the gap between the richest and poorest residents is far less than in larger cities, the division is still notable. Despite what one might assume, the wealthiest residents consist of mostly Empire natives.
Government
Due to the neutrality treaty, Final Respite is considered an independent city-state. The local government is run primarily by the militia with the Mayor serving mostly as a figure head with little influence. The militia itself is made up of soldiers sent by their respective territories, roughly 75% of which come from the Empire.
Industry & Trade
Most of the residents make their living by selling goods and services to the various pilgrims and travelers who pass through or trading with the nomadic tribes that wander the plains. Local farmers harvest wheat and straw from the fertile plains, which is often traded for glass and minerals from the north.

Farmlands - the farmlands stretch for many acres north, east, and west of the town.
