Session 3.3

After a five-day boat ride aboard the Emerald Horizon, the party finally arrived at their destination of Cardona. Unbeknownst to the party they arrived during the start of La Carnivale, a weeklong, city wide celebration including music, art, food, fun, games, and revelry. Upon arrival, the group was greeted by Lord Ferdinand Ismael Valentino Escobar who informed them that he will be serving as the party’s liaison for the duration of the trip.

They were escorted to the Palacio de Solymar, a magnificent palace of limestone walls with azure and gold roof tiles, where the party would be staying while in the city. Later that evening the party was introduced to Sovereign Raynaud Andromeda, the acting leader of Cardona, who welcomed the group with a grand banquet with some of the most influential nobles of the city. The group had seized the opportunity to network and exchange information about each other’s nations. During a certain point of the banquet there was entertainment in the form of a halfling poet named Quell. He had delivered a rather cryptic poem which was strangely cut short by Lord Fernando.

Curiously, throughout the entirety of his performance, the poet had maintained eye contact with Soren, who had stored this information, before the group called it a night. The following day, the party got an early start as they attempted to piece the clues from the poem, visiting the Colossus of Cardona, a 200ft tall statue that stands sentry out in the harbor. However, the first lead proved fruitless. Next, the party stopped by Andromeda Plaza where they spoke with a street performer who states that the poet Quell was a free spirit and rather elusive entertainer and just shows up randomly throughout the city to perform. With minimal information the party headed to Carnivale row and decided to enjoy the festivities. After trying their hand in a couple games of chance, the party caught a glimpse of Quell, who after noticing the party himself, turned tail and ran.
