Turalance Academe
The Turalance Academe is the most prestigious city-institution on the continent of Raygon, dedicated to those who seek to study, research, and master the arcane arts. Mages, wizards, witches, and scholars from every corner of the world come here to expand their understanding of magic and push the boundaries of what is possible.
Recognized as one of the foremost centers of magical education, the Academe serves as both a school and a city, entirely devoted to the pursuit of knowledge. No matter one’s specialty be it elemental theory, enchantment, alchemy, summoning, or experimental spellcraft the Turalance Academe offers a place to learn, grow, and refine one’s craft among the brightest minds of the age.
It is also home to many who have already mastered their disciplines and now dedicate their lives to teaching and inspiring the next generation. What began as a modest training hall has, over centuries, expanded into a vast metropolis of learning complete with libraries, laboratories, and entire districts built around magical study. Today, the Academe stands as both a city of scholars and a beacon of arcane enlightenment for all of Raygon
Government
The city and the Academy are run by Ace Maygus. The school's hire staff those teachers researchers custodian and so on to fill the need of the school and the city follows the kingdoms oversighted views the only difference is that the aces are the ones that oversee the city not an overseer
Infrastructure
The architecture of Turalance Academy is a striking blend of geometry and magic. Every building is constructed with careful attention to shape, purpose, and energy flow for in this kingdom, structure itself is part of the spellwork.
Most homes are built in a hexagonal design, a shape believed to promote stability and efficient circulation of ambient mana. The hexagon’s natural symmetry allows for stronger defensive wards and reinforcement spells, making it ideal for residential and personal use.
Buildings devoted to heavy magical activity such as research halls, academies, and arcane laboratories often take on octagonal forms, which are said to balance and amplify spell energies. Meanwhile, businesses and day-to-day establishments tend to follow simpler rectangular or square patterns, as they require less magical reinforcement.
Some of the more specialized or experimental structures deviate entirely from convention. Certain towers curve in serpentine “S” shapes to channel wind magic, while others employ triangular or spiral layouts to guide energy flow according to their intended function. Every building’s form serves both aesthetic and arcane purpose, reflecting its designer’s understanding of geomantic principles.
Construction materials are equally deliberate. Most homes and businesses are made from Jin Clay dense, gray stone like material known for its exceptional resistance to magical energy and elemental damage. Some structures are painted or engraved with runic inscriptions for added protection.
Other buildings incorporate materials tailored to their magical intent:
- Elemental workshops and research building use substances that conduct or focus specific types of magic.
- Research towers employ layered enchantments that stabilize energy flux.
- Public structures are built to withstand stray spells and experimental mishaps common in a city of mages.
History
Around the year 9,478, there lived eight great mages, each a master of one of the elemental arts. They often gathered to solve some of the greatest magical and natural problems of their age, combining their knowledge to achieve feats no single mage could accomplish alone.
Among them was a brilliant gnome named Blora Fitz, a sage of remarkable talent who had mastered six of the eight elements and studied the others in depth. It was Blora who proposed a bold vision to create a place where learning the mystical arts could be accessible, enjoyable, and open to all who sought knowledge. He dreamed of a sanctuary for the study of all forms of magic, free from the politics and restrictions of any single kingdom.
The eight mages agreed and began establishing what would become the Turelance Academe. In the beginning, it was small just the founders, their families, and a handful of students. But the brilliance of their teaching quickly drew attention. As their reputation spread, more apprentices arrived, and within a few short decades, their humble school began to grow at an astonishing rate.
However, such rapid success also brought danger. Rival kingdoms, threatened by the Academe’s rising influence, began to view it with suspicion. To protect themselves, the founders formed alliances with four neighboring realms the Luke Dynasty, Samhraidh Talamh, Ametha Kingdom (no longer in existence) and Delmar Kingdom. In exchange for protection and support, the Academe agreed to train select students from each of these allied nations under the personal guidance of the master mages.
These alliances gave the Academe time to stabilize and expand into a self-sustaining city of magic, recognized as neutral ground by nearly all nations. Its independence was safeguarded by mutual agreement for if any kingdom attempted to seize or control it, the others would unite against them.
Over time, the Turelance Academe grew into a beacon of learning and unity, a place where all races and nations could study the arcane without fear or bias. Yet even today, some rulers remain wary of allowing their people to travel there, fearing that too much magical power gathered in one place could one day shift the balance of the world itself
