Unlike spiritual dyne in isolation,
Souls are capable of interacting with the universe at the behest of the brain it’s linked with. Souls can move energy between quantum fields and particles, transfer momentum between particles, manipulate quantum probabilities, create space-time curvature, alter coupling constants between particles and quantum fields, and other quantum trickery. This is the foundation of psikinetics.
As it’s an unquantifiable interaction between the soul and the universe, it’s classed as a form of miracle that acts to intervene and circumvent the natural progression of phenomena.
The use of psikinetics allows a civilization to surpass limitations set by the laws of physics, allowing them to construct physically impossible mega-structures, generate limitless resources and energy, perform dimensional engineering, time travel, faster-than-light travel, attain biological immortality, super-physicality and super-cognition, matter shaping, true invisibility and more. Such civilizations usually appear godlike to those not yet utilizing psikinetics.
Rodinians are an example of a civilisation that makes effective use of psikinetics, and can very easily be misunderstood as being gods by less advanced civilisations. These civilisations also come to rely less upon technology as their minds take over the role technology once provided, a concept known as the
Horseshoe Theory of Psikinetics.
Psikinetic Precision
Some psikinetic users can manipulate atoms and therefore manipulate objects at the atomic level. Others cannot, and may begin to “lose sight” of an object when it becomes too small. The phrase “losing sight of an object” in this context refers to the soul’s inability to interact with it due to the object being too small. The user’s psikinetics will therefore be unable to influence it.
The property which influences this psikinetic precision is the soul’s fractal depth.
When a soul is created, it forms from condensing strands of dyne called nimata. The more dyne available in the surrounding planetary aura, the denser these nimata are, in both how much dyne they individually contain and their overall numbers. The soul's analogous physical size doesn't change, so the nimata get smaller, pack more dyne into themselves, and spawn more nimata off from themselves. Imagine it like a fractal tree where there's no minimum size to the branches that can grow; they just keep spawning smaller and smaller branches, and so the overall amount of dyne within them also increases.
The size of these nimata corresponds to a soul’s psikinetic precision. As a soul matures and continues to increase in dyne, these nimata continue to get finer and more numerous. They'll sprout sub-nimata of their own and become fractal in nature with no limit to how small, fine and numerous they can become. The smaller they become, the smaller the size of the objects that can be manipulated by the soul's psikinetics.
In addition to being able to manipulate the universe at a very fine level, beings who can use their soul as an extension of the computing power of their brain can tap into super-intelligence and super-cognition, utilising all that fractal space to extend their neurological computing space.
Psikinetic Power
Some psikinetic users can lift buildings with their powers, whilst others may only be able to lift a cup. Additionally, some psikinetic users can use their powers for days on end before starting to weaken, whilst others may only be able to use them for minutes at a time before requiring rest.
This property is known as psikinetic power, and is also related to how much dyne constitutes the soul in question. It's linked to the density of the nimata in the soul (not their size, which only governs precision). The more dyne that's used to create a soul, the denser and more numerous its nimata are and so the greater its power will be.
The phrase “psikinetic burn-out” refers to the concept of a soul becoming exhausted from overusing psikinetics. A soul is understood as a conduit for momentum and energy as it’s moved from one location and system to another. If the energy/momentum moving through the soul’s network of nimata is too great then the nimata become damaged, or “burnt-out”. This damage requires time to heal, and if too much damage is accumulated and not allowed to heal, then the soul’s psikinetics will weaken.
The Pillars of Psikinetics
There're four fundamental aspects to psikinetics:
Tilt
A particle’s position in space is described by a three-dimensional wavefunction. The square of the modulus of this function ascribes to each point in space a probability of the particle existing in that location for a given time. Tilt is where the soul alters this wavefunction, often dramatically, to make particles appear in less likely locations or encourage quantum tunnelling.
Teleportation is one of the applications of Tilt, where psikinetic users establish quantum coherence within an object before altering its superimposed wavefunction to make it appear elsewhere. The mental requirements for doing this increase exponentially with the size of the object due to how difficult it is to maintain quantum coherence in macroscopic objects. It’s usually only Rodinians and
Nadrakians that can pull it off.
Other applications are in perfect filtration systems, creating super-lenses, perpetual motion machines, nuclear transmutation, and defensive barriers.

Flow
Energy and momentum must still be conserved even with psikinetics. This is one of a few absolutes the laws of physics imposes upon it (along with the conservation of electric charge), which can only be broken with higher miracles (such as the charisms of
Theosis and
Iconoclasm).
These quantities can be moved around however, and the soul acts as a conduit to move them. With Flow, energy and momentum are taken from one system and transferred into another. In the case of momentum specifically, an equal and opposite momentum must be transferred into something else if a user moves the object from rest using psikinetics.
An example is telekinesis, where an object is spontaneously accelerated and moved through space with seemingly no force being applied from a source. The energy for this motion must be taken from another system and given to the object, travelling via the soul itself. The momentum it gains must also be negated by an equal but opposite momentum that the soul transfers elsewhere. In a simplified sense, the object exerts some kind of reaction force on the soul, which in turns dumps the momentum from this exchange elsewhere in its area of influence.
Applications of this are wide and varied – flight, matter manipulation, excitation of quantum fields, matter-energy transmutation, temperature control, electric currents, etc.
Latch
A tricky and esoteric aspect of psikinetics involves altering the coupling between particles and quantum fields. This is known as Latch.
Using Latch, particles can be forced to more strongly interact with a quantum field, such as electrons and protons responding more strongly to the electromagnetic field, increasing the electrostatic force between them. This can create chemical bonds that are almost unbreakable, or vice-versa cause matter to fall apart if it’s reduced to zero. It can create super-magnets, powerful electric fields, inertial dampening fields, and exotic nuclear matter.
It’s because of the Latch aspect that Rodinians, Nadrakians and their constructs cannot be damaged or destroyed without usage of equally powerful psikinetics.
Form
Form, sometimes also known as geometric forming, is the final aspect of psikinetics that involves the manipulation of space-time itself. This involves the soul directly manipulating the values of the Ricci Tensor, Ricci Scalar and metric tensor to achieve space-time curvature in the absence of energy (no stress-energy tensor). Whilst it hasn't yet been achieved, there's speculation the cosmological constant may also be alterable.
This allows psikinetic users to create exotic space-time geometries such as wormholes, warp fields, expanded hidden dimensions, faster-than-light travel and time machines.
Form is extremely difficult to master due to the incredible energies required to bend space-time. It requires an enormously powerful soul to pull off.
Prerequisites of using Psikinetics
Certain prerequisites must be satisfied before a civilization can use psikinetics; some of these are within their control whilst others are not.
You can’t control what you don’t know
As psikinetics is fundamentally restructuring matter and energy, and manipulating space-time, a good understanding of natural sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology and engineering is required. Therefore most civilizations using psikinetics already have an advanced scientific understanding of how the universe works, which then allows them to know what they would like to change and how to do it. Individuals themselves wishing to use psikinetics also need to be well read in the natural sciences. A lack of knowledge in these aspects results in weak and chaotic psikinetics, or no psikinetics at all; most proficient users of it are very knowledgeable physicists, chemists, etc. This is one of the easiest things for civilizations to control.
You can’t control what you can’t understand
Individuals must be capable of understanding the physical systems they wish to manipulate. This means more intelligent species and entities possess more powerful and precise psikinetics. Usually it’s the case that naturally evolved intelligence is insufficient, and some degree of intelligence enhancement is required through either assistance from artificial intelligence, or some form of genetic or cybernetic enhancements of the brain, or through accessing one’s own soul itself to expand raw intellect. This can be controlled by a civilization, but is harder to do as it requires some intelligence enhancement technologies and/or understanding of souls.
You can’t control what you don’t care about
It’s believed the soul is the engine of psikinetics and performs the necessary transfer of energy/momentum, including the required manipulation of probabilities. The soul is also the source of consciousness and therefore it’s believed a person’s emotional state and willpower influence the strength of their psikinetics, as they have an effect on the soul’s ability to perform it. This is perhaps the easiest for civilizations to control, as individuals themselves can influence it directly.
You can’t control what is beyond you
If the soul is the engine of psikinetics, then souls of greater complexity and which contain more dyne within them will have more powerful psikinetics. Spiritual aura is a proxy for measuring how much dyne a soul contains, as well as how complex it is, and therefore is another proxy for measuring the power of a soul (in addition to the lifeform's Miro rate). Individuals with greater spiritual
Auras tend to have more powerful psikinetics. Civilisations usually have no control over the power of their own souls, which develops naturally over great spans of time.
Recalling from previously, the power and precision of a soul’s psikinetics is proportional to the amount of dyne it contains. This is drawn from the aura of dyne that surrounds the home planet of that creature’s distant evolutionary ancestors, and so the density of the nimata in that soul is limited by the dyne available in the home planet’s spiritual aura.
And as previously mentioned, these planetary auras are built up over eons by the collective production of dyne by all the planet’s life, with vigorous biospheres quickly building large auras whist struggling, tepid biospheres build them slowly. The intelligent species evolved on planets with large auras, such as the Rodinians from Earth, essentially win the lottery and inherit enormously powerful souls and therefore enormously powerful psikinetics with a quick rate of future growth. Those from planets with weaker auras and biospheres are unfortunately hard capped in their psikinetic proficiency, with slow growth potential.
