Aquathorp

This small town is build on top of a large creature that was originally believed to be a whole island. While it has not moved in at least 200 years it is believed to still be alive and some researchers have tried to confirm this. This has however been hard as the locals believe probing the creature could awaken it and therefore keep strict guard that this does not happen. Due to this it is unknown what sort of creature it is and how it ended here and the only way to know it is a living creature is the legends told by the locals and the fact that the island moves every so slowly with the current.   The town itself is build of mainly wood and mud with no buildings being taller than 1 story due to the locals not wanting to dig into the earth deep enough to build foundations. The largest building belongs to the guards of the town, whom are also the rulers and lead with a mixture of approval and fear to enforce whatever laws they deem necessary to avoid wakening their island.
