Syntyche Papatonis

Syntyche Papatonis is a libertarian organizer in Kaisadroupolis. They are the oldest child of a family descended from refugees from southern Ridbha. Growing up in a Ridbhan ghetto in Kaisadroupolis, Syntyche learned to fight at a young age. They spent their teenage years fighting echelarist gangs, where they were introduced to anarchism, popular in the diasporic communities. She became a labor organizer in the SEK and a radical voice within the labor federation, despite her young age. Now, they are a loud advocate for revolution against the Symvouli Tiporé and the Kaisan state.

Appearance

Papatonis is a short and stocky person, with jet black hair that looks like it was shorn with a kitchen knife. She has dark skin and rough and calloused hands, despite her age. A burn from a cooking mishap adorns her cheek under her right eye. They wear clothing typical of the lower classes of Kaisa, often with a stained apron on top. On her belt, she keeps a pistol and a knife close at hand.

Biography

Early Life

Papatonis grew up in extreme poverty in the Kaisadroupolis Ghetto. Her father was a coal miner, who lived in southern Kaisa for most of the peak mining season, sending money home to the rest of the family. Her mother worked in a textiles factory, and their brother got a job as a sailor in one of the fishing fleets. Syntyche became involved with one of the petty gangs that operated in the ghetto. Throughout their teenage years, they and their friends were avid street-fighters, often fighting echelarist gangs that would attack Ridbhan businesses and homes. She was introduced to libertarianism during this time, from elder organizers living in the ghetto.

Labor Organizing

Papatonis became a worker at a sardine-packing plant when she was sixteen. After one of her fellow workers lost a limb in a workplace accident, she and others at the plant began to work together to form a union and strike for better conditions. Despite threats from the bosses and beatings from the Etnofroura, they succeeded, joining their union with the SEK in 1342 CE. Papatonis themself became a critical voice in this process, respected despite her age for her passion and commitment. When the Last War began, they were one of the individuals within the SEK that pushed for the federation to begin organizing against the war and preparing for a fight. She spoke in favor of the formation of the SEK-ESK in 1344 and has continued to be a vocal member of the organization.

The Daffodil Revolution

The death of her brother, who had been conscripted into the Kaisan Aeronautical Corps when the Last War began, only served to further radicalize Papatonis. When the revolution began, they started organizing a dimotiatoro in the Kaisadroupolis Ghetto, Vu Napri Ahā. She is a suspected member of the Arati Taxarchia and has been targeted by the Etnofroura for her activities. So far, they have managed to evade arrest.
