Alekos Makri
Alekos Makri is a popular Kaisan politician and echelarist activist. He bankrolls and is one of the founders of the Kaisan Vitalist League, and he has been elected to sit as a deputy in the Synekio Laida as a member of the Kaisan Union. Within the party, he is the leader of the revanchist faction, which has been steadily growing in size through the latter half of the 1340s.
Born the middle child of a lower noble family in Chypos, Alekos joined the Kaisan Army at a young age. He served as a logistics officer in Kaisan Kriehehrdtia for most of his career.
He was horrified by the outbreak of the Revolution of 1333 and believed that something must fundamentally change to prevent another catastrophic rupture in Kaisan society. He fell upon echelarism as an answer to this political question, and he has turned his energy and resources towards the advancement of his convictions. A charismatic man, Alekos found success in politics, winning election to the new Synekio Laida as an affiliate of the Kaisan Union party. He agitated within the party, becoming the leader of a growing echelarist faction.
In 1339, seeing the success of the new Imperial Jiderani Union, he and other prominent Kaisan echelarists founded the Vitalist League. They hoped to use the League as a parallel social and political organization to the Kaisan Union that could push the party towards echelarism. Despite being a founding member, Makri does not flaunt his position in the Vitalist League, concerned that it could cause problems for his political career.
During the Last War, initially Makri maintained patriotic rhetoric, but he became one of the first prominent politicians to break from his pro-war stance. He has become increasingly critical of the Symvouli Tiporé and the Kaisan state, going so far as to claim that their actions are bringing on a new revolution; a prescient observation as it turns out.
