County of Arnarfell

Trees, Lakes, and So Many Farms

The current count is Sharn of Arnarfell, otherwise known as the Mule Count due to the heavy responsibility he inherited with no real skill of running an entire county. Though one might think that in a land without too much open grassland for farming is not ideal for it, they are wrong. There are many man-made canals, dams, and redirected streams to serve water to homesteads, mills, and farms. There is even a large fishing industry here, if you couldn't tell from the fact that a forest was named Anglerwood. There are lots of ponds to be found all around, perfect for a small hamlet to be built there for farming. Arnarfell consists of the Bog of Drifting Souls, Anglerwood, the Rat Lake, and pretty much everything up until the Silk River. Arnarfell is also in a dispute with Hallowgrave over who owns what part of the Hills of Ascension.   The actual town of Arnarfell is really spread out over a bunch of hills, constructed into the side of some cliffs and waterfalls. There are no 360 degree surrounding walls, but rather a few walls built into the cliffs and rocky outcroppings, which sort of act as natural walls themselves. The canals also act as a sort of moat, too. The people here don't have too many monsters to worry about, but Anglerwood and especially the Bog of Drifting Souls are teeming with monstrosities, undead, and even aberrations. There are plenty of small farms surrounding the town, too. What makes this town unique is that where you would expect most of the surrounding farms to actually be crop farms or ranches, many of them are river fish farms from the Angler's River.
