Morros Sapientem

Grand Marshal Morros Sapientem, Of Nicknaklandia

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

He is currently the perfect specimen of a Kobold youth. Whilst by far, not the strongest of Kobolds, his recent encounter with electrum has strengthened his muscles proportionally, so that he is now more physically powerful than most Kobolds, despite his muscle-mass remaining the same. He is, however, quite dexterous, being able to squeeze into smaller gaps or perform athletic manoeuvres with greater ease than some. He has no afflictions, and his only great abnormality would be that of his wings and the slight white colouring at the back of his nails. In terms of fitness, again, he was not the fittest of Kobolds but the electrum has enhanced his ability beyond the normal, but not to any supernatural ways.

Facial Features

His face is mostly mixes and shades of red all over and around, with the few contrasting colours highlighting the main features located on his face. The scales around his eyes hang heavy, yet his eyes themselves are bright and awake, with a fierceness projected to those he stares at. The pupils in his eyes are a dull black and are not very reflective, but appear as a cut straight down his eyes, in the centre a slight prong of black extends, like a small cross. His iris covers the rest, red like an inferno, becoming more vermillion towards the centre. The grooves of the ridges above his eyes were greatly accentuated with his eyes almost appearing as holes in his head, were't not for the flicker of flames billowing out of the ruby red orbs. His snout grows out of his face, about the length like that of a greyhound, approximately 9'', with his scales overlapping themselves towards the end, creating almost a wrinkly sort of nose look. His lips are a blackish cherry, rubbery in texture. The fangs are white and bland as death, with yellow splotches nearer the gums. They are a glistening row of spikes lining the outside of the inside of his mouth, often having perhaps the hint of his last meal strewn between certain tooths. His tongue is a long, flamboyant writhing tentacle, forked from both his reptilian nature and his consistent lies. His ears rest on either side of his head, slightly pointed to the end, with one having a hole through the top half, decaying brown blotches surrounding. His forehead is furrowed, as if in a constant scowl, but oddly smooth despite this, devoid of wrinkles when not in a particular expression. His skin is taut across his prominent cheekbones, signs of his malnutrition and agony he spent in the sewers. Lastly, the horns are crimson, such as the rest of his body, and are ever so slightly curved backwards towards the end. The horn on his left is bent towards the centre of his head and appears as though it has been battered and bruised.

Physical quirks

Morros has now apparent physical quirks on the outer of his body, as he appears as an average crimson Kobold, bar his purple electrum wings of course, but the one thing that does separate him from being completely normal is a discolouration of the pigment inside his claws, causing a white sheen, similar to that of calcium, to be prominent on the back of his claws, which contrasts noticably with the bleak blackness colouring the rest of his claws when viewed from behind.

Specialized Equipment

Morros has a pair of electrum wings upon his back. He was not born with wings and instead gained these through drinking a bottle of infused electrum whilst in a sewer. The wings a purple and are a mix of a molten liquid and reptilian scales. At 3 feet in wingspan, they are each the size of his body and enable him to fly great distances. They are also used to channel his magical energy to where he wants it, at times. They appear as though they are melting off his back, with droplets seeming to be produced, although they never actually fall, but they glow an irridescent violet, illuminating the wings as a whole. He also has a Bowl of Commanding Water Elementals which is a golden plated bowl with decorations of waves and water surrounding it, with it being approximately a foot in diameter and half as deep. When it is filled with water and a certain command word is spoken untowards it, Morros can summon and control a water elemental from a different plane of existence, and can do this once until the new dawn has settled where it has effectively recharged by then. Morros found this specific equipment in the caverns around a Kennerheim fortress whilst with the Knights of Braveheart. Ammusingly enough, before he had discovered what its use was, and even sometime after, he thought of it nothing more than a large backpack to carry his items and so used it as such.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Born in an unnamed Kobold tribe underneath Doriath, he had an unfortunate Kobold childhood, where he was bullied due to his low stature and bloodline. He soon overcame these problems by eliminating his rival, permanently, and became a regular member of the tribe, having a happy family, although got into some conflict with the spiritual elder on occurrences.    However, tragedy struck when one day, after returning from a long and arduous mining trip, he found his entire tribe, family included, brutally slaughtered by unknown fiends. Vowing revenge silently over the bodies of his brethren, he heard the sounds of humans, and fled quickly into the sewer systems nearby. After many a troublesome time he spent wandering about, eventually he came to some Kennerheim guards, asleep around some cargo where, due to his extreme thirst, he found a bottle near the centre and drank it, the bottle being full of an electrum-infused potion, and promptly developed magical powers and purple wings. Whilst fleeing the guards, he encountered a band of adventurers and helped them in their missions. Afterward, he travelled to find more of his kind, where he came to Nicknaklandia. Through lies, deciet and trickery, he managed to convince some key members of the government, under Grand Marshal Nick Nak, that he was someone of importance. There, he was given a minor position, where he began to expand his authority and supporters slowly, presenting himself as the traditional Kobold, intent on realising the greatness of a new Kobold empire. There, he created the Cult of Morros, a group of his devout followers, of whom followed his leadership and word unquestioningly. After a terrible curse befell the Grand Marshal, Morros due to his rising popularity, took it upon himself to replace the incapacitated leader, but was forced to accept a dual power system with another Kobold, Elnura Beldrum, of whom represented the opposite of what Morros stood for, that being technology and progress, ensuring tensions to rise between them and a power struggle to emerge over the fragile government in place.

Education

Although he didn't ever attend any sort of formal education, due to him being a Kobold and all, he was taught the generic Kobold livelihood, as all young Kobolds should know, but other than that, he has never recieved any proper education, however, it should be mentioned that due to his elevated position as the new Grand Marshal, he has the more intellectual Kobolds tutoring him, and oft has conversations with prisoners of his of whom are also academics.

Employment

In his early adolescence, he worked as a miner for his tribe, consistently displayed the hard work he put into his job by having a greater than normal output of gems, gold and other valuble minerals. It was due to his hard work and passion for his job that he was absent at the time the entirety of his tribe slaughtered. Afterwards, his next employment was whatever he could do in order to scrounge up money to pay for food and other provisions in order to buy a ramshackle boat in order to get to Nicknaklandia, which included being a thief, working as a con-artist as a seller of valuable materials, and, curiously enough, being a street artist and selling portraits of people to themselves, although he did not have to work very long as the money he accumalted from some dead Kennerheim soldiers, and the bad quality of the boat he was hiring meant that he didn't need to scrounge a lot of money. Once he had arrived in Nicknaklandia, through a mixture of flying and sailing, he immediately found himself thrusted into being a magician for the Nicknaklandian government, and then promptly being elevated to the head of the sorcerers there due to his great magical might and his cunning and deciet, as well as a few accidents to the other powerful magic users. He remained head of sorcerers and got close to Grand Marshal Nick Nak, and obtained great popularity due to, again, his lies about his past and bloodline. As of such, when Nick Nak befell a dragon's curse and a prompt coma, he swiftly promoted himself to the rank of Co-Grand Marshal, alongside the appointed Co-Grand Marshal Elnura Beldrum. And so currently his posistion of work is that of Co-Grand Marshal in Grand Marshal Nick Nak's stead.

Intellectual Characteristics

Morros is by no means an academic or an intellectual of any sorts, in fact he often despises them. He was born with an average intelligence, nothing too smart, and nothing too dumb, but the world had taught and forced him to become more wise as the problems he dealt with required cunning, else the other option would've been death.

Morality & Philosophy

He believes that only the strong and cunning can survive, that the ambitious should be the true rulers of the world, and those who refuse to accept reality and submerge themselves in weaknesses should only watch. He considers himself to be the opposite of altruistic and will gladly help himself over others, as he values his life moreso than anything else the world or anybody has to offer.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Morros has many motivations, pulling him towards many differing directions where he wants to go and what he wants to do in life. Because he likes to be sole-minded and single focused, he will only think and act upon one at a time. Right now his motivation is his ambition to become leader of the Kobolds and to expand their petty kingdom of a city state into a global domineering empire. He has many other ambitions, however, with another of his greatest motivations being that of to avenge his fallen family and tribe, of whom were all cruelly murdered by the Dream Team, a band of adventures who model themselves of the Knights of Braveheart, but this is unbeknownest to Morros, who had actually met them and thought highly of them as they assissted him in a dire situation, and so Morros trusts them far greater than the average person, which is ironic since some of the only people he has greater trust in are the one that completely altered his course of life for what appears to be the worse. Of course though, he doesn't know that they did this terrible act, whislt they have some suspicions that they were the ones who killed everything he held dear, although they haven't shared these thoughts with him. Other motivations that Morros holds is to also expand his personal power, as he was bullied when he was young, and constantly faced a hard life, unable to protect those close to him, and so believes that absolute power shall absolve him of these problems. Next to this comes his love of gold and riches, classic of a Kobold, and he knows that he has greed and accepts this. He does however control this hunger for wealth, and keeps it in line so that his other ambitions and motivations can take precedence.

Likes & Dislikes

Rare artefacts and historical works are of particular fascination to him, and he likes to preserve momentoes of occasions and troubles that he is apart of, and wishes to record history to his fullest, but is a hypocrite in this manner as he will criticise those who write history with falsehood and lies, yet he intends to write history the same way, bolstering and exaggerating certain facts whilst leaving out specific details, especially those that relate to him, particularly his early life. He dislikes academics, intellectuals and pompous prats, who he deems annoying and lack all the skills and capabilities needed to properly endure life. He also sees them as wooses and wimps, who judge a situation from afar without every personally interacting with what they study or talk about. He dislikes his previous life in his original tribe being mentioned as he had lied about it through his teeth in order to achieve his current position. He hated his bloodline when it was talked about as though he had a decently strong draconic bloodline, he gained nothing from it, such as no wings or magic, and has only gained abilities through his own blood, sweat and tears. Recently, however, talking about this hasn't been his greatest dislike as he can now claim he was from an exceptionally strong bloodline due to the unique electrum wings.

Hygiene

His hygiene when he was a member of his original tribe was next to non-existant, as with most other Kobolds. Once travelling to Nicknaklandia, however, he has forced himself to be more cleanslier, in order to preserve his uniform and be accepted among the intellectuals and academics, although he still detests washing himself, deeming it a waste of time and water. He is, curiously enough, very finickity on the quality and dirtiness of his claws, and their sharpness, and will go to great extent to clean them to a shiny black, with the white on the undersides of the claws being quite prominent from behind.

Social

Reign

During 32 PR, his has been ruling Nicknaklandia in Grand Marshal Nick Nak's stead, with Elnura Beldrum, who is his rival, and he intends for a coup to solidify his power and reign, and to remove those who threaten him.

Family Ties

Morros has no direct knowledge of any of his close relatives, as it was tribal law that eggs be brought up in batches, away from those who layed them. Kobolds can sense, however, family relatives, and he knows that Lipiec and Platone were his aunt and elder brother respectively though this sense. He also had a mate and child, his mate being Stama, and son, Menchel. The reason he knew whom his son was was because he had kept an eye on his egg after it was layed and saw the Kobold who hatched. Unfortunatly, all of these people, along with the rest of his tribe, who can be considered his extended family, were brutally slain, and so Morros has no family left alive that he knows, or cares, of.

Religious Views

Morros cares not for religion, instead, he believes it is an archaic system that holds society from progressing and developing a nation should. He hates the idea that a nation and its peoples should be bound not to their leader, but to a mystic uncertain being. He also sees it as an obstruction, at times, that could threaten his authority by delcaring one above him. However, Morros knows the popularity of religion and begrudgingly accepts it as an important part of Kobolds, but Morros uses religion for his own gains, supporting it in order to gain legitimacy among Kobolds as through supporting it, he gains the church's power on side, which is a powerful tool that he wants to wield against his political rivals, and to bring stray Kobolds to his side. As of such, he declares to the public that he is one with the church, a faithful son, completely indoctrinated, whereas in fact, he is entirely skeptical about the entire idea and views that it holds. It does not assert that he disbelieves in any gods, but rather that he doesn't conform himself to any set religion, choosing only the path that he travels, rather than one assigned to him by an otherwordly being. With this, again, he doesn't believe in predetermination or destiny; he chooses what he will do and damns anything that tells him this is part of a larger plan. His views on afterlife are practically non-existant, not that he doesn't think there is one, but moreso that he has neither the time, nor patience, to think about his demise, but will rather act to ensure that it does not ever occur. For the idea of luck, he disbelieves again too. He sees the world as merely a place of action and reaction, that of which everything affects the other, and that all actions have consequences that will inevitably come up again to haunt those that make them, for good or bad.

Hobbies & Pets

Morros has recently taking up the practice of reading so that he can understand what it written on many of the governmental doccuments by foreign powers, and so that he can write down a constitution for Nicknaklandia.

History

When Morros came to Nicknaklandia during 32 PR and rose up quickly in the ranks due to his prominence and contacts he encountered Elnura Beldrum. Both didn't think much of the other, however, they did have to work together in order to aid Grand Marshal Nick Nak enact his orders around the country, and to provide advice. Despite this, they almost displayed a kind of sibling rivalry, fighting for the attention of Nick Nak, although for more nefarious means. However when a misfortunate accident occurred to the Grand Marshal, Elnura suspected Morros, due to his rising popularity and ambitions, but could not act on her suspicions as they were now in a dual power system in order to govern the country themselves and so could not display outward instability at the rule. However, behind the scenes, Morros and Elnura both garnered support from opposed factions in an attempt to overthrow the other via sheer support. This is when the relationship between them collapsed as they began to detest each-other's very existence as they consistently thwarted the other's attempts to reform the country to their ideals, or take power from the other.

Relationship Reasoning

They each have contrasting beliefs on the future of Kobolds. Morros outwardly declares that they should return to traditionalism, and wants found a new Kobold empire with him at the head, whislt Elnura wishes to bring Kobold society to the forefront of the world, rather than return to the past. Unbeknownest to Elnura, Morros secretly agrees with Elnura's want for industrialisation and technological progress, but doesn't make it public as he needs support from the tribal chiefs and religious Kobolds. Morros does disagree with Elnura, however, that Kobold civilisation should be brought to the world as a city state or minor power, as he thinks that Kobolds are destined, by his hand, for greatness. To this, Elnura disagrees as she wants a united race and for Kobolds to be viewed as equals with the population of the world, whilst Morros wishes for them to be looked upon as superiors.

Commonalities & Shared Interests

They both believe in technological progress and industrialisation, as with the rapid bringing out of Kobolds from the tribal era, but Morros keeps this commonality a secret from Elnura and the wider world.

Shared Acquaintances

Grand Marshal Nick Nak looks down upon them both as almost a fond father figure, although he had been getting suspicous of Morros' aims and origins.
