Co-Grand Marshal Elnura Beldrum
Physical Description
Elnura as an oddball among Kobolds, due to her rare purple scales, as it was stained during her long experience of exposure with electrum vapour, though remanents of her previous colouring still remains, as the scales are speckled with white dots like light fallings of snow. Her claws are blotched with black ink stains, showing her long hours working at the desk, and she maintains a tired posture, slightly hunched, but brims and shivers with excitement when the opportunity for major progress is to be made.
Mental characteristics
Elnura was adopted from a very young age, nearly beyond her memory, by a Dwarven couple in Kennerheim when they found her roaming the streets of the city. Before that, little is known at her, or where she came from, though it is naturally assumed that she originated from a lost Kobold tribe in Kennerheim and was forced to flee her tribe. As of such, her new -found parents were besotted with her, and endeavoured to treat her as though she was one of their own. As of such they home-schooled her to the best of their ability, and they focused particularly in tutoring her on magi-tech and other scientific studies, as the dwarves were both engineers and scientists themselves. They refused to allow her exposure to the outside world, as they feared she would be shunned, and partly due to an obsession they held towards her, determined to keep her from danger.
At some point, she was approached by Nick Nak, after his prison escape, in 31PR, as she had a burgeoning reputation as a skilled scientist and organiser, which Nick Nak knew was necessary for his future plans of creating a nation. Thus, he hired her first to do some practical technological experiments, as well as a few studies on some of the more mysterious objects held on the isle of Nicknaklandia, including the Mythallar. She excelled in this and produced many great results and findings, and created a new team of Kobold scientists to pave the way for Nicknaklandia. Pleased by her results, Nick Nak then formally gave her an invitation to join Nicknaklandia as its chief scientist. She accepted immediately, as whilst she was in Nicknaklandia, she saw the slums and the poor conditions the Kobolds were living in and resolved to fix their situation, as she saw her own reflection in her early childhood on them. She achieved great progress in Nicknaklandia and gained a few titles and positions, becoming Nick Nak's most reliable and modern Kobold at hand, and she gained a reputation as a marvellous orator, with her speeches of industrialisation and entering a new world invigorating the Kobolds with a new passion. Her team grew exponentially and was met with thunderous cheers every time she stepped into public light. With the advent of Nick Nak's curse, she was forced to place him in a coma to stop outward harm, but unfortunatly, due to Nick Nak not realising his fate too soon, he had not designated a clear heir, and so, as Elnura was the most powerful, she decided, with support of the council, to step to the position of Grand Marshal, but was forced to accept dual rule with another Kobold, Morros Sapientem, due to his popular approval required to legitimise the new government.
Elnura was home educated by two brilliant dwarvern scientists in Kennerheim, of whom's specialities were in magi-tech and engineering. She later pursued further education in her own studies, and when she was able to sneak into dwarvern lecture halls unnoticed, due to a distaste for Kobolds in Kennerheim, as well as libraries. She often resorted to minor theft to get the books she wanted. As of such, she had a broad education, with a focus on the technological aspects of the world.
She was designated as Grand Marshal Nick Nak's successor should anything happen to him and, as of such, after she placed him in a coma for his own protection and that of those surrounding him, she took his position in 32 PR but was forced to share it with Morros Sapientem, as there was a growing split in Kobold society and she needed his support in order to effectively govern the nation. Currently, she is in a dual power struggle against Morros for who will rule solely over Nicknaklandia, and to what direction this emerging nation might take.
History
When Morros came to Nicknaklandia during 32 PR and rose up quickly in the ranks due to his prominence and contacts he encountered Elnura Beldrum. Both didn't think much of the other, however, they did have to work together in order to aid Grand Marshal Nick Nak enact his orders around the country, and to provide advice. Despite this, they almost displayed a kind of sibling rivalry, fighting for the attention of Nick Nak, although for more nefarious means. However when a misfortunate accident occurred to the Grand Marshal, Elnura suspected Morros, due to his rising popularity and ambitions, but could not act on her suspicions as they were now in a dual power system in order to govern the country themselves and so could not display outward instability at the rule. However, behind the scenes, Morros and Elnura both garnered support from opposed factions in an attempt to overthrow the other via sheer support. This is when the relationship between them collapsed as they began to detest each-other's very existence as they consistently thwarted the other's attempts to reform the country to their ideals, or take power from the other.
Relationship Reasoning
They each have contrasting beliefs on the future of Kobolds. Morros outwardly declares that they should return to traditionalism, and wants found a new Kobold empire with him at the head, whislt Elnura wishes to bring Kobold society to the forefront of the world, rather than return to the past. Unbeknownest to Elnura, Morros secretly agrees with Elnura's want for industrialisation and technological progress, but doesn't make it public as he needs support from the tribal chiefs and religious Kobolds. Morros does disagree with Elnura, however, that Kobold civilisation should be brought to the world as a city state or minor power, as he thinks that Kobolds are destined, by his hand, for greatness. To this, Elnura disagrees as she wants a united race and for Kobolds to be viewed as equals with the population of the world, whilst Morros wishes for them to be looked upon as superiors.
Commonalities & Shared Interests
They both believe in technological progress and industrialisation, as with the rapid bringing out of Kobolds from the tribal era, but Morros keeps this commonality a secret from Elnura and the wider world.
Shared Acquaintances
Grand Marshal Nick Nak looks down upon them both as almost a fond father figure, although he had been getting suspicous of Morros' aims and origins.
Private possessions and belongings, the industrial portions of Nicknaklandia, the wealth and gold reserves of Nicknaklandia not under Morros' control.
