The Clay Cuffs

Once a Tourist destination, the beautiful and lush tropical lands turned out to be extremely high in very strong and mouldable clay, a very coveted material for pottery and luxury cosmetics and treatments.   After the True Tax Agreement, The islands were turned into a slave labour encampment for criminals under the rule of House Thassyran and became the stuff of nightmares.   The Clay Cuffs are now solely inhabited by criminals, anti-establishment groups and the families of the Guards who live their.

Geography

Inside the encampments, it is a hellish landscape. Deep mining quarries, with hundreds, if not thousands of broken shells of barely humanoid creatures mining the ground itself in the wet and almost consuming, knee high clay. The smell of death and disease penetrates the air as the screams of both the captives and captors try to get the upper hand.   Leaving the encampments however the beauty of this land is overwhelming. Beautiful tropical forests, white sand beaches with clear blue water as far as the horizon goes, and an array of beautiful and exotic wildlife, almost all perfectly suited as domestic pets.

Ecosystem

The weather on the islands is mild or warm all year round, giving it a tropical ecosystem.   The heat and light smoke radiating from The Ruby Mount seems to have covered these islands in a year-round tropical paradise, if you ignore the sudden and heavy rains every so often.

Ecosystem Cycles

the fauna consists of almost exclusively year-round plants and trees and the wildlife seems to be unaffected by the mild swings in temperature and climate.

Natural Resources

The Clay the islands are made of, is very coveted and the free prison work force and bodies are also very good for business.

Tourism

The idea of it being a prison encampment has pretty much halted every form of tourism, nor is it allowed to begin with.
