Omenwood

The Omenwood is well named and became the dark and gnarled tomb of many pioneers as the world resettled.

Geography

Located central North of the primordial continant, directly adjacent to the Omenteeth Mountains and East of Lake Omen. The area is heavily sloped and the ground is warped by the massive roots that run beneath it.

Ecosystem

The Omenwood is inhabited and signified by the dark growth of Huge Gnarlwood Trees. The Gnarlwood of this area twist together and their roots form knots under the dirt, seeping through even the hardest of stones. Digging in the area becomes increasingly difficult without specialized tools as the density of these roots increases. Above, the trees form a nigh impenetrable canopy. The Ecosystem is extremely aggresive and isolated, known to harbor corpseflowers, hill giants, trolls, and ogres which routenely feed off eachother. This causes the woods to be mostly predator-filled with few exceptions. This leads to an extreme stillness that permiates within the woods and while many have made roads through the wood some have reported these roads doubling back on themselves or dissapearing alltogether.

Ecosystem Cycles

While the surrounding forests experiance the full cycles of the seasons, the Omenwood is somehow immne to these changes, foliage remaining the same and snow seldom reaching the forest floor.

Localized Phenomena

The foremost danger of the Omenwood is the woods istelf. It is Highly unadvised to rest within the woods. While some have reported roots growing upwards to ensnare them in the night, many more have said that upon awakening they found themselves in a completely different location within the woods. To the unprepared, this is a death sentance, for the lost become easy prey for the many threats which lurk in the shadows of the Omenwood.
