Lantern Moths
Basic Information
Anatomy
Lantern Moths have scales grown in such a way to resemble fur.Their furry bodies have a gray to cream-coloured complexion and have been known to grow to have wingspans of 10 inches, however they are more regularly reaching 3-5 inch wingspans in adulthood. Lantern moths are also much known for their namesake of bioluminescence. Beneath the fluffly scales of their abdomen they are able to produce an impressive light display for their size. The light is often yellow in hue but has been described as green in other areas.
Ecology and Habitats
Lantern Moths require still bodies of water to grow, and while they are ubiquitous throughout Cinder's Hope, they are much more common in areas with heavy rain and standing bodies of water.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Lantern Moths mostly exist on a diet of plant pollen and nectar but are often attracted to fruits and confectionaries.
