The Great Swamp
One of the single most dangerous places in the world, the Great Swamp stirs the nightmares of many travelers who found themselves lost in the brambles and thorns of the Swamp.
Geography
The Great Swamp is located just South of the Indomitable Peaks and forms the southermost penninsula of the Tungsten Asile. It is seperated by several streams which spliter off from the the melting snow of the Indomitable Peals creating the Great Swamp Delta.
Ecosystem
The Great Swamp is home to inumerable species, all uniquely equipped to survive the harsh swamplands. Carnivorous plants are extremely common and the air is thick with a miasma of spores. Without proper protection, any creature not acclimated to the air becomes an easy target. Insect species litter every leaf and carcass. The many corpses succumb to liquefaction, becoming pools of rot that fuel the more dangerous wildlife. The bramble itself is told to be predatory in nature.
Localized Phenomena
Within the mists of the Great Swamp, magics of all kind seem to react with a kind of volitility not commonly expected by non-native spellcasters. The heavy concentration of living material has extreme effects on magic casters which increases as you continue to delve into the swamp. Some even say that its as if magic is as wild as the beasts within this soggy domain.
Natural Resources
The fruits found in this place are said to be like no other, acting as a panacea to nearly any ailment. These fruits are quite rare and impossibly valuable and have been known to make brave prospectors increadibly wealthy almost overnight. There are also a collection of exotic creatures to be found within the swamp whos hides do fetch a fair price.
