The Seven Modern Wonders of Casiphon

The Seven Modern Wonders are seven particularly impressive constructions which have been built in the most recent age of history - the end of the Sixth Cycle or the beginning of the Seventh Cycle.   There is no canonical list of seven, but five form the basis of most lists. They are:
  • The Porcelain Temple to Mithaeril at Cothon Carinbalq.
  • The seven-arched Taorminite viaduct over the Sarantes river at Chaiton Bridge.
  • The Colossus of Mercy built in honour of Piameth Ghiy beside the harbour of Mabag Pachamel Grith.
  • The Tree-Labyrinth of Epilytaemiston, a twenty-mile wide network forming the central hub of the elven realm.
  • The Carridine Bastions, a two thousand mile network of walls and fortresses guarding the dwarven realm of Carrado.
  •   In addition, various lists add two of the following:
  • The Iron Highways of Fulgor, where steam engines pull trains of iron wagons across the dwarven realm.
  • The Pearl City of Prest, where a large section of the city on a wide domed hill is built with white glazed brick.
  • The Ramps of Taormun, where two enormous earthen ramps allow access over the two hundred foot high Black Walls.
  • The Dolthian Walls of Mabag Pachamel Grith, the gargantuan stone fortifications defending the city from the land.
  • The hanging glades and meadows of Acrantheia, where Tryphaetha-trees hang down from the Arches of Acrath many hundreds of feet above the canyon floor.
