Nineveh

Nineveh is a continent of faith, conflict, and resilience, where entire nations are shaped by their devotion to the Elder Gods. Six nations define its landscape: Jascana, blessed and favored by Mardros, goddess of Nature; Trodan, home to stoic warriors and the largest gateway to the Underdark; Scania, a frozen land of survival and strength; Kleumizura, the bastion of order and law; Zecria, a barren wasteland of nothing but raw magical energy; and Selatres, a riverland of freedom and adventure. Each nation reflects the personality of its patron deity, creating a continent of extremes where faith is both shield and weapon.   Though not the oldest nor the youngest of the continents, Nineveh has endured repeated attempts at conquest, particularly from demon lords who view its fractured faith as an opportunity for domination. The most recent threat came from Demon Lord Asmodai, whose rise nearly plunged the continent into eternal ruin. Salvation came from an unlikely source: Lorem Ipsum, a B-ranked adventuring party who, with the aid of Empress Ace’s bodyguard, destroyed Asmodai and restored the shattered land of Oblivion to vibrant life. Despite this triumph, Nineveh remains volatile. Its seas are viciously guarded by Kava, goddess of the Seas, whose waves deter almost all trade and travel, forcing Nineveh to sustain itself and rely on internal unity. Beneath its surface lies one of the largest and most dangerous networks of the Underdark, a labyrinth of power and mystery ruled by figures such as Netherbane and Kriss Morigan, making Nineveh as perilous below as it is above.

Geography

Nineveh’s geography mirrors its divine influences: deserts in Kleumizura, frozen tundras in Scania, lush jungle in Jascana, barren wastes in Zecria, riverlands in Selatres, and freedom in Trodan. The continent’s varied terrain is rich yet unforgiving, with divine blessings and curses shaping the land.

Ecosystem

From the enchanted rivers of Selatres to the icy predators of Scania, Nineveh’s ecosystems are as diverse as its people. Jascana’s jungles devour the careless, while Zecria’s wastelands demand brutal adaptation. Divine cycles of destruction and renewal create constant ecological flux.

Ecosystem Cycles

Faith-driven rituals and divine interference guide many of Nineveh’s natural cycles. Seasonal floods bless Selatres, while Scania’s eternal winters shift unpredictably. Zecria's wastes undergo “cleansings,” violent magical resets thought to be gifts, or punishments, from the gods.

Localized Phenomena

The Oblivion, once ruined by Asmodai, now glows with divine vitality, a scar turned into a blessing. The seas around Nineveh, controlled by Kava, spawn monstrous tidal waves that crush unwanted travelers. The Underdark pulses with strange magical storms tied to Trodan’s surface rituals.

Climate

A continent of extremes: fertile and tropical in Jascana and Zecria, frozen in Scania, arid in Kleumizura, and desolate in Zecria. Trodan’s highlands enjoy temperate seasons, though frequent Underdark quakes disrupt its stability.

Fauna & Flora

Blessed beasts roam Jascana's Qila Jungle, while divine aberrations stalk Kleumizura’s desert. Scania’s megafauna grow thick hides of frost, and Zecria breeds monstrous scavengers that thrive on desolation. The Underdark teems with bioluminescent horrors and ancient predators.

Natural Resources

Nineveh thrives on divine abundance: enchanted crops from Jascana, rare metals & adventurers from Trodan, magical herbs from Zecria, and megafish from Selatres. Scania’s frozen reserves yield untainted waters and frost-forged minerals.

History

Shaped by the Elder Gods, Nineveh has long been a stage for divine ambition and mortal survival. Its history is scarred by demon lord invasions, the most recent being Asmodai’s near-conquest. His fall, led by Lorem Ipsum, marked one of the few moments of true continental unity.

Tourism

Travel to Nineveh is perilous; Kava’s wrathful seas destroy most ships, and only the Underdark Tunnels offer a consistent route for the daring. Despite this, zealots, adventurers, and scholars seek Nineveh for its divine mysteries and the promise of legends made real.
