East River
The East River is a small river that flows from the eastern mountains of Ikitur to the coast of the Frozen Strait. It cuts through the thick boreal forest of Ikitur and emerges at the coast near the settlement of Easton. In the depths of winter, the river will freeze up for several miles upstream, as the subzero waters from the strait mix with and supercool the waters of the river. This has the effect of causing frequent flooding upriver from Easton, and those resulting pools usually freeze and clog up the river flow even more.
The main traffic on the river flows between Easton and the various logging and mining camps upriver. The camps deliver raw goods to Easton to process and use in a variety of industries, while the town of Easton delivers workers and supplies to the camps.
