Westgate
Archivist's Excerpt from: Alone in the Cold: The Story of Orphan Towne, its Strange History, & its Stranger Occupants, CVI 42.4
In the depths of Norberia's underside, near where Orphan's wells churn up the water supply from the underground currents of the meager remains of the Yedak River stands old Westgate, probably the most often trafficked portal in and out of Orphan Towne until the coming of the Founding Order.
Rumours persist among some of the populous, largely because of the incessant gossip of the Hilldiver, that one resident actually managed to leave Orphan by way of Westgate sometime around 1890-1892, one Otto Vanderhill Heinrich. This is, of course, unsubstantiated, especially because Orphan's gate access codes are known only to operators of Parliament with proper access. The High Times and the Broadcast both put the issue of his total absence and such rumours to rest, reassuring the population that he is simply dead somewhere in Towne.
There are even further rumours that this was a point of access of a certain unmannerly Galó wastrel who managed to infiltrate Orphan Towne on some clandestine mission, but this too is unsubstantiated and likely the sort of rot that comes of too much time sitting round at the Songbird Cafe with one's cheddar and bacon soup.
