Lumair, God of Light

(Loom • air)
Lumair, the light that banishes all darkness, stands as an unwavering force of justice, unyielding, impartial, and inevitable like the rising sun. To the righteous and lawful, he is a beacon of divine order, a testament to the Gods' just and malevolent will. To those who walk the more morally gray path, Lumair embodies the oppressive hand of the divine, an enforcer of rigid laws that impose celestial order upon the free will of Mortals.   Jaded by an immense time attempting to keep the beings of the Auroraverse from causing absolute chaos, Lumair does not concern himself with kindness or mercy. Neither a dryer of tears nor a source of comfort, he and his followers are an unbreakable shield and an unwavering sword, existing to protect the weak even if it means they must become as harsh as the sun in a desert. He and his followers abide by a strict, unshakable code—one that he seeks to impose upon the Auroraverse, for better or worse. While some may resent the rigidity of his rule, none can deny that it safeguards the weak from the tyranny and pain of that which hides in the dark corners of the Auroraverse.

Origin

One of the first Gods, Lumair was born from mortal reverence for light—the life-giving force that nourished them and illuminated their terrifying world. He saw himself as the guiding light of the Auroraverse, striving to create a future where all could bask in the sun without fear of the lurking shadows. As a consequence, to Lumair anything that strayed from his vision of perfection was an abomination—an imperfection that had to be eradicated for the good of the whole.   The first of these abominations was his own brother, Darux. Knowing he lacked the power to destroy Darux completely, Lumair instead cast him into the Underworld, sealing him away from the world he sought to protect. But as time passed, new threats emerged—Carcon and his endless wars, Shuzi and his relentless defiance of the status quo—each standing in the way of Lumair’s perfect world.   Determined to impose his will upon the Auroraverse, Lumair briefly formed the Higher Pantheon, a coalition of the most powerful and righteous Titled Gods, united in the goal of spreading throughout the Auroraverse and enforcing law and order. However, his ambitions were curbed by a sense of responsibility after a conflict with his brother Darux ended in the destruction of a planet. Humbled and honed by this destruction, Lumair formed the Divine Parley with Darux and later joined the Reincarnated Pantheon, seeking to begin acting as a guiding force as opposed to a forceful one. Though he has gained the wisdom of age, every now and then the arrogance of the young God of Light shines through.

Followers and Church

Typical Alignment: Lawful Good

Followers: Followers of Lumair are often very just and noble individuals who strive to better the world around them. Most are warriors since Lumair encourages his followers to become powerful fighters and drive back the chaos that threatens the world. Followers of Lumair often have a strict moral code they put even above their own lives, and while Lumair discourages it, his followers often cannot help themselves from turning a blind eye to a child stealing bread for their family.

Church: Churches of Lumair spend their time doing what they can to improve their community and seek guidance from their God on how to do so. While followers of Luminar act as the sword of justice the churches exist to shield the week from the shadows.

Champions

Lumair prioritizes ideology in his champions, believing justice to be more important than power. While Lumair has never had an outright fight with any of his Champions they have in the past clashed over Lumair’s rigid beliefs and lack of forgiveness for anything he sees as going against his perfect world. His champions exist as a beacon of light and justice in an otherwise dark and unforgiving world.

Tenants

Loyalty: Lumair values loyalty to oaths and commitments, believing there to be no greater crime than going back on one's word. Breaking a solemn promise is a grave offense in his eyes.

Bravery: Lumair loves acts of bravery and self-sacrifice for the greater good as well as not flinching in the face of danger.

Justice: Lumair encourages a strict and unyielding belief in the importance of law and justice, for it is in chaos that the weak are taken advantage of the most.

Relationships

Despite his arrogance and strictness, Lumair is still widely respected and liked by the Gods of the Auroraverse.
  • Darux: Lumair sees Darux as his ultimate rival and that he will eventually at some point be the final obstacle in the perfection of the Auroraverse.
  • Geryu: Lumair is infatuated with the God of Oceans, seeing her as the only God who can match his power and share his vision for the world. Therefore, she’s the only one with the right to sit at his side.
  • Aedis, Hacina, and Berilor: These Gods have ideals that align with Lumair’s own, and as such they are close allies with Aedis and Berilor being Lumair’s adopted children.
  • Maluzu: Even though Darux and Lumair are considered the top Gods as of now, Maluzu is a force that can neither be measured nor understood. While he and Darux might have surpassed their Father, Lumair still believes Maluzu to be the key to victory against his brother, should he ever need it.
