Shuzi, God of Liars

Shuzi, the devil’s advocate and master of contradictions, defies all expectations—even those of the Divine. A Mortal who lied and schemed their way out of the afterlife and into Godhood, Shuzi exists as a contradiction to the status quo, not to make things better but simply so a contradiction exists.   To his followers, Shuzi is the epitome of absolute freedom, unbound by cosmic law or divine decree. They revere him for the liberation he represents. To follow Shuzi is to reject the rigidity of order and delight in convention disruption. Where other faiths build temples, Shuzi’s followers build conspiracies—whispered rumors, secret gatherings, and hidden pacts that seek to undo the current order.   The stories surrounding Shuzi are as numerous as they are contradictory. Some claim he once tricked Lumair into breaking his rigid code; others say he convinced Carcon to wage wars of greed that fractured entire planes. Yet, his most infamous tale—the one that no one can confirm but no one can dismiss—is that it was Shuzi who planted the first seeds of ambition in Darux, the catalyst for the fall of the Higher Pantheon. Whether these tales are fact or fiction is irrelevant; the mere possibility of their truth leaves its mark on the Auroraverse.   Ultimately, Shuzi is less a being and more a question—a riddle that defies solution, a prank with no punchline. He is chaos incarnate, a living testament to the idea that no truth is absolute and no order is unbreakable.

Origin

Shuzi's journey from Mortal to Godhood is as mysterious as the rest of his existence. Some claim he was a brilliant strategist who outwitted kings and queens in his lifetime, while others believe he was a simple trickster whose luck never ran dry. What’s known, however, is that Shuzi’s achievements should’ve been impossible—he slipped through the clutches of Darux himself, the inevitable end of all beings. It was not through might or divine intervention, but through sheer cunning—an artful lie spoken at the right moment, a deception woven so seamlessly that even the God of Death was momentarily ensnared.   After escaping the Underworld, Shuzi wandered the Auroraverse, pulling schemes on one God after another. Each trick, each lie, and each deception added to his legend until the Gods themselves grew weary of chasing the elusive mortal. When he eventually found refuge in Hondus, the Plane of Chaos—where law and order have no hold—he discovered a place that mirrored his very essence. In time, the weight of his influence and the sheer depth of his infamy brought about his ascension to Godhood, his gaining of a Title, and his acquisition of a seat among the Reincarnated Pantheon.   Shuzi's influence is always disruptive, never allowing the scales to settle, always ensuring that stability is fleeting. In times of order, he stirs chaos, sparking conflicts that ripple through the planes. In times of turmoil, he introduces moments of structure and clarity, creating temporary lulls that only make the ensuing chaos more impactful. This unpredictability makes him a being of frustration and fascination for mortals and Gods alike.

Followers: Shuzi’s followers range from the casual deceiver to the master manipulator, and while many of these individuals act this way out of selfishness, the true followers of Shuzi act like their God. They act against the status quo and push the world around them to never remain the same for long. Whether this is a good or bad thing depends purely on the state of the world they’re in.

Church: Churchs to Shuzi rarely stay in the same location for long, often being designed to be packed up and transported when the heat is on.

Champions

The number of Champions Shuzi has had is unclear, as they very rarely declare themselves as Champions of Shuzi, and if they do, it’s unclear if they’re lying or not. The one thing that is known about Shuzi’s champions is that it’s rumored that once during their championship, they can whisper something into reality, though the specifics of this are unknown.

Tenants

Disruption: The status quo is unacceptable; change is necessary for anything to progress, so go out and disrupt what is.

Adaptability: The world is ever-changing, and so must be the followers of Shuzi.

Relationships

Shuzi’s relationships are unknown since it’s unclear if they’re real or if the individuals who interact with Shuzi believe their relationship to be whatever he says it is.
