Editor's Response
At the moment, you'll notice a variation between Arc Sagas' "Themes". There is the standard "Modern Age" Theme; this is the current Theme, used in Modern Articles or the Arc Tribune. These Articles represent a body of work that specifically relates to the present Time and setting in the World of Pathon. Then, there's the "Ice Age" sub-blue Theme, which has color and font variations.
The largest body of work for quality, these Articles represent the extreme and distant past. In the Age of Forever Frost, we see the slow evolution of the first native Cultures. A part of the immersive quality of Arc Sagas will be in the depth and evolution of History and Cultures- and how Readers & Players will be able to interact with it! From primitive origins to brand new Eras, here we come!
Presenting different Themes, I'll be showing the World of Pathon in different phases of its' existence. A standardization of design and format has always been important; thus, I've went back through my CSS to include Variables. These handy references make this kind of work much quicker, easier. Using Templates, I can create consistent Article structures while varying design.
An Age will be a grouping of 3-5 Eras. 3 Ages form an Epoch. This will continue until we're back to the Modern Age. Currently, Eras aren't sub-divided, but I do have some ideas in mind. To speak to that, it feels like writing multiple Worlds, at Times. Rules and conditions exist in one Age that might not in another. For example, while Ice Age is a semi- snowball World scenario, the next Age is the result of glacial flooding. More on that will be revealed!
While it doesn't have a large influence right now, Timelines will serve a crucial role in presenting this information in the Future! Finally, there is currently a secret Theme that has yet to be revealed! A hint: it isn't relevant to the Ages! Stay tuned for more!
March of 31 Tales
This challenge is designed to get you writing each day with a word count goal for 31 days! I set the bar at 50 Words p Day! While that doesn't sound like much- it isn't- what's more important is the act of writing each day. In my last edition, I mentioned the importance of taking breaks, but also the significance of making Time for writing practice. Building the discipline for writing can only make you a better writer! Therefore, I accepted the challenge as well!
Participants earn a badge designed by myself, but Winners will take home a truly marvelous badge designed by Jontaro of Oniran! Personally, you'd think I'm participating to earn my own badge- but I'm not! I want to earn this challenge badge! Let's give it up for Jon and Demon! Beautiful badge will be mine!

Tips & Tricks
Demongrey's Tips
In regards to completing his Challenge, Demongrey offers:- Have a Plan. It helps to know what you’re going to write today, tomorrow, and the day after. Plan details ahead; then when you sit down to write you have something to start with.
- Keep it simple. You’re here to write today; not format, edit, proofread, or design. All of that can be done after you hit word count. Write First.
- Don’t stress. It’s not set in stone; it’s all changeable later. In many ways the point of daily writing isn’t even the output; it’s the Practice. You write every day to get better at writing. It’s great- a sign that practice pays off.
Myth X' Tricks
In regards to completing the challenge, I'd like to offer:- Protect your Time! Make sure you're setting aside Time each day for Writing. Setting goals and having strong boundaries helps! Give yourself Time & Space to create your own Success!
- Preparation meets Opportunity! Been considering ideas? Now's your chance to Draft them! Focus on task; new ideas can go on to become new Articles!
- Accept low-risk, high-reward World-Building! Find some fine details in your setting to draw inspiration! Then, expand your own ideas! Read others' work for inspiration too! As always, I ask, "Why not?", Arc Sagas?
An Article Branch is a grouping of Articles that work together to tell a Story. You can expand on your own ideas by considering these in relationship to each other. Article branches to consider when writing new Articles:
- Law
- Spell
- Condition
- Tradition
- Myth
- Character
- Item (Relic)
- Document (Prose)
- Material
- Item
- Vehicle
- Technology
- Settlement
- Location
- Building
- Rank & Title
Question! Question!
"You live a few thousand years- a few thousand mistakes enough- and still might surprise yourself."
Question! Question!
What Article type is most common for you to write?
- Is there a certain Article Category you find yourself returning to? Is there a common theme in your work expressed through this common thread? Does this choice inform your setting? Do you have a favorite?
- Without looking, Spells, Items & Materials are the most common types of Articles in Arc Sagas. Invention and innovation are key themes in the greater work, best expressed with these Articles. Technology evolves.
What is your writing style? How do you craft your work?
- Have you considered your own writing style? There are those that write with their senses and those who wish to inform. Some with their hearts and others with their minds. It all relates in the style of writing. What have you noticed? It isn't as important to define your style as it is to notice it.
- Style changes- evolving over Time, with exposure and experience. I can write this Newsletter with a casual style while I can also articulate complicated concepts in a formal style, but writing in Arc Sagas allows me to blend a passion for pastoral story-telling as well. Style can shift.

Find out what Arc Sagas has in stock for you!
Hey, I'm early this time! Woo! First, I wish you the best of luck on the 31 days challenge! Second, I think having the Ages color coded is such a fun detail! Definitely not something you had to do, but a fun little Easter egg for the readers. What Article type is most common for you to write? Hmmm, I'm actually not sure. I feel like I have a wide variety of articles, due to the competition's that WA hosts. But I always enjoy writing a good character or prose writer. I'm more of a writer than a world builder, so while the other articles are fun, I will always enjoy a well-written character or prose article. What is your writing style? How do you craft your work? Interesting question.... I think for me it depends on the POV of the story. If it's a first person POV then the style and wording wholly depends on the character. If it's a third person limited or even omniscient it will vary for tone and the character's POV. Yeah...I think that's everything lol
Hello! Thank you so much for the response! : D And thank you for the well-wishes! I'm having a lot of fun writing these Articles, and I'm super glad to hear that you enjoy the color coding! One of my earliest feedbacks was that Arcs was colorful, so I've worked to hone and tone it down! There are some amazing tools for keeping track of how many Articles you've written! In reference, I like using Brigid- a tool developed by Hanhula! Writing for WA Challenges has also given me a wide range of Articles at this point! Agreed! Well-written Characters defy genres, imo. They transcend the normal limitations and reach many people. I also agree that perspective can impact stylistic choice in writing. For ex, 1st POV is going to give you great detail about the inner Life of a Character. Style, in itself, is also broad, in how we might approach it. I think finding ways to define your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to style helps you to aim better towards those ideas that inspire your vision. Thanks so much for being a part of the conversation!
