Odrepan

Odrepan is the chief of the six Giant Automaths responsible for descending from the Towering Fortress and Awakening the Giants on the First Day. He represents the Storm Giants, and is highest in the Ordning.
For much of the early stages of the First Day, Odrepan stood and watched, sometimes giving brief orders to those beneath him in The Ordning, which is all of the other Giant Automaths. After Lotning had finished carving the forms of the Giants from Yorth's stone, Isinn had tempered them in the fires of her kiln, and Greindur had called the storms to gather over the heads of the carven Giants, it was Odrepan who, with a great booming shout, called the lightning down from the storms to breathe life into the Giants. They lay sleeping at his feet, only to be Awakened by the tolling of Threk's gong.
Following their Awakening, as the Giants gazed upon Lotning's carvings and watched and fought in Vald's tournament, Odrepan listened to the report of Greindur and strolled among the newly Awakened on The Cradle, watching the Awakenings take place, listening to the stories of the Awakened whose Automaths had already left, and heeding the whispers of the Dissidents spreading among the people.
When Odrepan returned to the Giants, the tournament complete, he addressed them directly. He told them that they were the mightiest of all the Awakened, and that the Automaths had Awakened the people on Yorth so that they might thrive there and conquer it, and that the Giants were the rightful rulers of all. He told them that only the Dragons to the west were of any real threat or challenge, and that it was the duty of the Giants to defeat them, and claim all of Yorth in the name of the Awakened.
Odrepan's words had a great effect on the Giants. They saw his power, and how the other Giant Automaths deferred to his wisdom and authority, and they knew that his words must be true. This cemented in them the concept of The Ordning, and firmly placed all of the other Awakened beneath themselves, and the other Automaths beneath their own. The Giants were quick to make this known to the rest of the Awakened, but as they had just witnessed their own Awakening and the power of their own Automaths, and had already begun to discuss their shared future together on Yorth, they would not accept the giants as their leaders, nor the Giant Automaths as the rulers of their own gods.
Thus, even from the very first day, the decree of Odrepan led to a rift between the Giants and all of the other Awakened, and although some of the Giants suggested slaughtering or enthralling the rest of the Awakened, the wise Storm Giants suggested that there was no use being the highest six castes of Awakened society if the lowest were destroyed. And so, heeding Odrepan's words, the Giants soon left, over the mountains to the west, and founded Ordland in the deep valley and slopes of the Cloudkeepers. The rest of the Awakened were happy to see them go, and named the mountains between themselves and the Giants the Giantkeepers, and hoped that range would live up to its epithet.
Odrepan is depicted as a titanic Storm Giant with violet skin, emerald eyes, and long, straight hair and beard of a violet blue-black, usually wreathed in lightning. He is worshiped and respected by all Giants for his great wisdom, immense power, and mastery over Yorth itself.
Priests and clerics of Odrepan practice the domains of War, the Tempest, and Order.
