Lotning
Lotning is one of the six Giant Automaths responsible for descending from the Towering Fortress and Awakening the Giants on the First Day. She represents the Stone Giants, second from the bottom rank in the Ordning.
In many ways, the graceful Lotning is the polar opposite of the brutish Threk. She is hailed as wise and considerate, virtues completely alien to the Hill Giants, but is also, like all giants, powerful and dangerous. Depicted as tall, lithe, with long flowing wild brown hair and skin the color of granite, Lotning was given two key tasks on the First Day: first, she put her considerable stonecarving skill to great use by delicately carving the Giants to be Awakened from the living stone of Yorth, gifting them with extraordinary detail that was stunningly life-like. Second, after she had finished, she set to carving great scenes of Yorth, including huge cities of Giants among the mountaintops, tiny figures of Awakened bowing before the might of the Giants, and fearsome and deadly Dragons locked in mortal combat with fierce Giant warriors. These images would serve not only to give the newly Awakened Giants guidance in their lives on Yorth, but also instill in them a sense of appreciation for artistry.
Lotning also has about her a sense of caring, motherly grace, and is credited with helping to soothe the raging Threk after his rampages. These qualities, as well as her ponderous nature, connection to Yorth itself, and artistry, are admired by all Giants, though not held in the same regard as the traits expressed by the Giant Automaths higher in the Ordning.
Priests and clerics of Lotning practice the domains of War and Nature.
