Session X
General Summary
The party heads out to find the Hammer of Thromneal.
Missions/Quests Completed
After escaping the temple of Hlal, the party's divergent interests became evident quite quickly. Half of our heroes, led by Dolmir, immediately made their way to the Reinhilds' castle and reported their findings to Lady Elres, the daughter of Lord Rurik Reinhild and she invited them to participate in the negotiations taking place the next morning between the Reinhilds and the Ingmars. The other half, led by Darius, hid in Kuyutha's Hall, planning on selling the information to the Ingmars.
The next morning the Ingmar delegation arrived, stirring up quite a commotion in the city. Maple decided to fly into Lord Garrim's carriage and immediately tell him of what they found. As such, she was invited to the negotiations about to take place between the two Houses. Darius and Zaradis also decided to follow the procession to castle Reinhild and were let in on the orders of Lord Garrim, but Darius wasn't allowed past the courtyard on account of his history with House Ingmar.
The negotiations started with silence, followed by incessant bickering and rejections of any proposal made by the opposite side. In the end, Drundrick Ingmar, lord Garrim's uncle, proposed the tablet should be given to the party, which will work for both the Houses and use the tablets to find the Hammer of Thromneal itself. The party accepted and departed at once.
In the meantime, Darius incited a brawl between the two Houses' guards and snuck inside during the commotion. He hid in his father's room and waited on Drundrick to arrive. Their confrontation was short, but violent, ending with Drundrick losing his tongue and having the mark of Tiamat carved into his forehead.
Before leaving the city, the party decided to make some last-second purchases, but they also met an old friend of Melvin's, whom he met at the University. They decided his skills would be helpful in their upcoming heist and so brought him along, despite his annoying personality.
The newly enlarged party then traveled to Balgrom, planning on finding their way through the Dwarven mines and crypts of the Nivelline mountains to Baymore to find the other half of the stone tablet. They gambled and drank before spending the night at a local inn. The next morning their journey began in earnest, as they headed into the Dwarven mines at the edge of town.
