Brittlefel

Demographics

The cities population mostly consists of Dwarves, Humans and Orcs, with a large Gnomish community also present. The many local Dwarven noble houses have residences in the city and there are a couple really wealthy merchants, but poor labourers and middleclass merchants and craftsmen still represent most of the cities inhabitants.
The cities large Orc population represents most of its labourers. They live in large slums which hug the cities wall on both sides and  extend along the lakeside.

Government

The city is owned and run by house Ingmar, but a local council is elected by representatives from the Human and Dwarf guilds in the city. The council has an advisory function and holds no real power, but since its members control most of the cities industry the lord of house Ingmar usually respects its opinion.

Defences

The city is located in a bay with lake Brittle surrounding it on three sides. A large wall with a moat has been constructed on its unprotected north side, though the cities slums have extended beyond it. The wall as two gates, one in the northwest and the other in the northeast, both of which are contained within large gatehouses with a drawbridge over the moat.

Infrastructure

The city has a large port with boats bringing in ores, precious metals, gems, wood and different building materials down the river Brittle from the Nivelline and Alsdair mountains and then sailing from the city further up the river with the cities products. Fishing is one of the cities main sources of food and lake Brittle is home to a large population of giant crocodiles, which are hunted for their scales an teeth. A shipyard is located next to the port.
Many forges and foundries are located in the metalworkers' quarter.
