Aethoria
The verdant lands of Aethoria are the most extensively populated places in the world of Alephon. Its three main landmasses surround the relatively shallow Nostren Sea and allow for a very large amount of trade with other parts of the world. It is bordered by the Letherian Ocean to the north, the Acerian Ocean to the east, the Kusar Ocean to the west and the Ekru Divide in the south.
Said to have been the most well preserved land from the first and second ages, it is thus no wonder that it is filled with ancient ruins and artifacts can be found, if one knows where to look.
Geography
Aethoria consists of three main landmasses and a few islands:
Meshiria, the southernmost landmass of the continent is where Dagrun, capital city of the Sylphereni Empire is located.
Thraliscyra, the land to the north of the Nostron Sea and largest of the three landmasses is where the Empire holds sway.
Thucydia is the long mountain range of an island that lies between Meshiria and Thraliscyra, right in the midst of the Nostron Sea, it is more commonly referred to as "The Strip"
Meshiria and Thraliscyra are haevily forested lands with many rivers running through them that come from underground. Of these rivers, the ones with the most regular flood patterns are the ones on which towns and cities are established, in Meshiria the Nelfrein river cuts through the heart of Dagrun.
Fauna & Flora
Meshiria and Thraliscyra have many a forest and grove of deciduous and evergreen trees, some particular groves hold patches of wild magical herbs, which are harvested by the wood elf villages that may be found nearby. In terms of flora, oak, maple, beech, elm and other trees grow in abundance, as do fruiting trees like apple and walnut. Olive trees are very commonly found both wild and cultivated in all parts of Aethoria but mostly in areas near the sea. Steelbark is native to the region and the Elder Steelbark is housed in the Eltores Arboretum in Dagrun, its wood and leaves being used for its medicinal properties.
In the case of fauna, Aethoria is home to many types of corvids, boars, stags, aurochs, wolves, badgers, and bears. Less common is the perescence of owlbears, chimeras and manticores, and rarer still, there is said to be a population of centaurs and minotaurs in the many forest of the continent.
Natural Resources
The waters of the Nostron Sea hold an abundance of life, creating a very strong fishing industry throughout the Sylphereni Empire and Thucydia as well as a very distinct cuisine in all settled lands of Aethoria.
