The Brothers of Haulle
The Brothers of Haulle were a reknowned band of questing knights who traveled lands of Kirshall and Khirina completing various odd jobs for food, hearth & gold. Among their many exploits, their most notable adventure was their involvement in the quest to see the safe transit of building materials being kept in storage at the Grand Duke's estate in Morshov to the new keep being built in the city of Melynk in the year 766. Complications arose during their quest as the Boyar of Ordhov, Edrik Barrol had risen in rebellion against the Grand Duke over the death of his son during the construction of the city. At the same time, the harshest winter in living memory had blanketed most of the Khirinan Continent in terrible quantities of snow.

History
Early Years (763-764)
The Brothers of Haulle were formed in 763 between Dejarius of Hesse and Harrisov Sten in the tavern The Fifteen Feet in the town of Haulle over a meal of roasted fish and stale bread. When Tobbin Suar, who was across from the two approached offering his services. Sir Matom Ados would join later in 765 while encountering the group while they were helping a village in the Claw of Groz Darohm deal with an overgrown pack of Gemcrowned Wolves that had been killing livestock.
After the completion of their quest in the Claw, the group set out to visit Khirina, which both Dejarius and Harrisov called home.
Khirinan Tenure & Rise to Prominence (764-767)
Arriving in Khirina by boat, the group sailed into Port Nevan in the autumn of 764. Invited to winter in the city by the Grand Duke Fyetor Valrak III, the brotherhood helped breakup an illegal gaming club that had begun to assert it's influence over the town guard.
Protecting The Melnyk Supply Caravan
It was in the harshest times of the winter of 766 when tragedy struck in Melynk during the construction of the Melnyk Tower leading to the collapse of the half built structure, the death of many workers, including the son and heir to Ordhov, Imyon Barrol. When the Grand Duke ordered no cessation in construction, and the immediate resumption of construction efforts, the Boyar of Ordhov, Edrik Barrol closed the gates to the city and cutting off the only road through to Melnyk.
"Does the king care so little of his subjects? Of his nobles? Can he not see how a father mourns the loss of a son? Or is all he can see the glory of Empire?" -Edrik Barrol, in response to the collapse of Melnyk Tower.
In response, the Grand Duke made two response, the first was the mobilization of an army to reopen the city of Ordhov and the second, the hiring of the Brothers of Haulle to see the safe transport of the new supplies staged in the Grand Duke's estate in Morshov through the Ordhovar Mountains, around the city and to the construction site in Melnyk.
The early passage was without incident as the reacheed sight of the mountains. It was only after the first of the snow began to fall did complications arise. Four Wagons of Calpurnian Marble, eight wagons of iron, now needed as the mines of Ordhov were cut off from the Grand Duke, two wagons of salted beef and a wagon of the Grand Duke's fineries meant to furnish the Boyar's Keep once completed all needed to be pulled over hill and highland, rock and stone in knee high snow up a mountain's side. While the Brothers initially only needed to look on to prevent bandits or wildlife from accosting the caravan, the situation in the valley quickly grew out of control.
The Royal Army of the Grand Duke could be seen from the mountain passes above, approaching the well protected city. The Boyar had called his levy's in defense of the city and were well dug into the valley as well as the surrounding mountains. When the Grand Duke's envoy was assailed by loosed arrows, the commander of the army began for the preparations of a siege. In order to do this however, they would need to clear a path through the mountains in order to send men to surround the western gates of the city. Fifty dismounted knights and two hundred light infantry took to the mountains in the knight and began to do battle with the poorly positioned men hidden in the mountains.
Traveling through the southern mountains, the Brothers could the clang and fury of battle from across the valley. They would meet upon a scouting party loyal to the Boyar who, while fleeing to inform their captain let loose a barrage of arrows which hit and wounded gravely Harrisov. When the return fire coming from the Brothers failed to hit their mark, they instead caused a great dislodging of loose stone in the mountain and in this stone fall, the scouting party were swept away to the grounds below. While Harrisov recovered from his wounds, the Caravan party were left to navigate the particularly rocky terrain created with the collapsed path. With all but the wagon containing the Grand Duke's fineries moved up the mountains to the next terrace of flat land, they were challeneged. The wagon's unique shape made moving an intensly difficult effort and after the loss of three fellow caravaneers, the brothers were near to retreating the last wagon until the siege was lifted below. It was only with the help of a nearby mountain man who was unfamiliar with the squabbling of the nobility that they could carry the wagon uphill, with Dejarius supporting the wagon in it's place by the strength of his very legs alone while the party repositioned.
In the depths of the Stoneskeep Tower, Boyar Edrik began to understand the gravity of his errors. Two weeks into the siege, he had been blinded in grief, but he could not have predicted the swift and brutal reposte of the Grand Duke. The Boyar personally hoisted the banner of surrender and treated with the Commander of the Grand Duke's Army. House Barrol would be stripped of their land and by the grace of the Grand Duke, allowed to depart to the Kingdom of Hessia with most of his wealth intact. While this was happening, in Melnyk however, a welcome sight was seen as the advance party of the Caravan reached the site of the city's borders, signalling the safe delivery of their goods.
Throughout the next decade, the group would work throughout the continent, helping also in the Kingdom of Enekland, as well as in the Hessian Kingdom, which allowed for Dejarius to reunite with his adopted father one final time before his passing in 766. When colonial disputes began to flare up over taxation matters in Ebura, it was the Brotherhood of Haulle who were sent in to contend with the upstart band of colonists insisting their rights upon the Grand Duke.
Grown weary of their time in Khirina, the group sat out for one final trip across the lands in search of gold and glory. They would eventually find themselves in the Great Dorei, at the Aelven city of Immrion.
The Tragedy at Immrion (768)
In the year 768, the group met their end while attempting to negotiate for contracts in the Aelven city of Immrion. During the summer solstice celebrations, which is a holy time for the Immrionor citizens, Sir Tobbin entered the tent of a blacksmith in the city's grand bazaar and immediately began attempting to negotiate for lower prices on the blacksmith's wares. Specifically, small miniature soldiers meant to represent armies on manuever upon a large map during camapigns. As the conversation grew tense, the shopkeep would strike Tobbin across the head with his blacksmith's hammer, killing him instantly.
All at once, the situation grew to a callamitious pitch, with Matom striking dead the Blacksmith in response whose lifeless body fell out of the entrance to the tent. When the crowd of shoppers saw the body, they turned to fury, so incensed over what they saw as the wanton slaughter of an innocent man and gathered around the remaining Brothers. With no hope or desire of killing an entire crowd of angry civillians, they fled through the Bazaar. In the madness, Harrisov became seperated from Dejarious and Matom and this would ultimately save his life as he was able to hide from sight until the crowd had dispersed.
For Matom and Dejarious however, they would soon meet their end. Running madly through the Bazaar the two were nearly free when Dejarious was grabbed by a young Aelf woman, the daughter of a local tanner. Without the time to think rationally, Matom cut her down, in full view of two guards who had begun to investigate the commotion. Locked in combat with the guards, the brothers did not notice the crowd gathering around them. By the time they did it was too late. Dejarious whispered his last gambit to Matom
"Don't you recall Matom? We've fought more horrors, more armored knights, more great beasts than any one we've ever encountered... A couple of rowdy Aelves won't give us any more trouble than anything we've come across before. No... don't look at Tobin, that won't be you or I, they got the jump on him, and now we see 'em coming.
I'll tackle the first rank in weakest point I can find, then you need to carve your own path to safety. We depart now my friend." -Dejarius of Hesse
Dejarious however, would nearly immediately be engulfed in flames and cooked alive in his own suit of armor immediately after whispering these words as Aelven Spellcasters weaved a terrible gout of flame covering the Knight. Rearing his sword in one final act of blind violence, Matom's arm was grabbed by a member of the crowd and he would be beaten to death by the violent crowd.
