Apparently We're in Bawovya

by Talin

That's right. Whatever Bawovya means, though I'm quite sure it isn't a place anywhere in the Realms. First thing after we escaped that haunted mansion, wolves.
Wolves turning into bats and vanishing in the mist, never a good sign, though nothing in this place portents well. No one else seems as concerned that we are quite clearly trapped in some kind of hell world.

After leading the slow-pokes through the brush a while, I suggested taking a breather off the path. I got bruised up pretty good in our last battle.

Our Illithid companion got very buddy-buddy while I was resting, I think he wants to get married. Offered some kind of partnership. Still... since I seem to be stranded in this place, and I've seen not one sign of the Society since arriving here... Talin is little and the world is big. It is wise to make friends. I still sleep with one eye open, but so far they haven't tried to cut me up or sell me to slavers. It's a nice change of pace.

Not too much further down the path we found a corpse in the bushes with some chicken scratch on an old parchment. My traveling companions read it out loud but I was keeping an eye and an ear out towards the forest around us and didn't follow it. Something about "burgers"? Someone was a burgers and now there's not... and more about the vampire, Strahd. Everything here seems to be about him.

We found a village not much further on, past an old gate or tower of some kind. I made a bee-line for the nearest food and drink, and met the Vistani who own the Blood On The Rose Tavern. I greeted them as nicely as I could manage, "I see you are travelers. I too am a traveler. Nowhere is my home, everywhere is my home. I would like to make your acquaintance."
They told me the general location of their camps, and kind of invited to an event, and some details about nearby geography. Also told their new friend Talin that Vistani might possibly be able to assist in getting us through the mists and out of this place. They strike me as kindred souls, of a sort. Keep an eye out for them.

The group then led me to meet up with the burgers guy. His father died, I suppose, and so he will become the burger master. I kept an eye peeled for deception, betrayal, knives in the dark-- the usual-- but didn't pay attention to details. The others seem to manage that well enough. I'm still on the lookout for hot food, no luck yet. Maybe if he becomes the burger master he can help me out.
