A lot has happened, but it's all a muddle. After the Burgomaster was buried, we got a geography lesson from an old man. I wasn't really listening, but I liked the picture he drew for us. Very clearly labeled. I think.
The burgomaster's daughter Irina was bit by the big man of this place, Straddie Barowitch or something. They all talk a little strange.
I am suspicious of her, but she did show herself a smart one. For example, we were on the road and heard a horse approaching, and she was right there with me in the brush. And she held back, when we could see a knight clad in full plate wearing nothing but his bones. Knights should wear more than their bones. But Trevor, I practically had to restrain him... with a very stern glance that he probably couldn't see.
Still. Afterwards we made our way to the Vistani camp. I was very pleased to find that they are as hospitable as I imagined. Really pleasant folk. Unfortunately, they also talk kind of funny so I didn't understand half of what they said, but it seemed friendly. What I did grasp, after the old woman was muttering some nonsense about a card game, was that they have a potion that can get a person out of this infernal place. Unfortunately, I don't think it safe to go alone, and we don't have money for more of us, so I wisely didn't mention the case of silverware I have in my pack from the mansion of haunted orphan children. We will get those potions yet. Unless this place starts getting much less full of walking dead things and bad wine.
There was one other thing. It would seem I'm no longer under the watchful eye of Big Man. Maybe something else out there watching me? Maybe it's this Barowitch character. Well, I don't know what's up and what's down anymore, do I? May I land on my feet, and be quick enough to shank whoever needs a poking.
