improvisation

 getting in was easy thanks to relic's ability to reshape stone but the surprises started right away
 we had to subdue a couple guards before we found the operations room
 i was friendly enough but the guard in there immediately tried to attack – and so did the officer at the scrying desk
 relic fought the guard while medya sang some magic i hadn't heard before! and teleported the officer out into the hallway ... then zer' teleported them outside
 that gave us time to work
 
 each scrying prism showed what was happening in a different part of the camp and each could switch between several locations and angles
 but i had to get a bit creative just to work with them
 they were designed to react only to the touch of bare skin so hoof taps didn't work and my thickly-furred fetlocks didn't work and my nose worked but the controls were too small
 i briefly considered using my tongue before it occurred to use my horngrip to simulate the touch of a finger
 
 it didn't take long to find all but one of the students – "gerren" was the one to accost the guards in bedem and spark says it's no surprise that his inability to keep quiet earned a transfer to teryk
 a ledger on the desk showed that after a fight with a guard they're moving him to fort deepdark ... not good
 medya and i focused on working the door controls to get the rest of our group down to the work areas
 actually medya was a little overwhelmed so i focused for both of us
 
 zer' set up a teleport circle for the other prisoners to run through to escape to korth – specifically the prison there but at least they won't be consumed by the swarm of undead released to try and stop them
 medya found that the prisms could project her voice throughout the camp so she started singing to keep our team's spirits up while they worked to keep the guards and zombies at bay
 i'd have helped out but i was too busy to because that officer returned to attack again
 
 i knocked them down with my "force sphere" spell so medya and i could run to meet the others and escape
 they managed to hit one of my legs with a wand and somehow it felt hot and cold and numb all at the same time but it didn't stop me from running
 they tried to catch me from behind
 on pure instinct i kicked ... but i remembered quickly enough to power the push schema embedded in my shoes to send them some additional distance down the hall
 i knew that would be useful!
 
 the explosions worked as planned – zer' used alchemical bombs and i modified a force sphere spell to direct the blast of bell's shatter grenades
 kaba and morran brought the svestjarbi around just in time for us to jump in and race off
 sharpshooters chased us in carts but we broke their wheels (and nearly our own!) and escaped into the woods
 the students will make their way back to atur
 we'll rest for the night
 i'm sure my heart will return to normal pace soon
