Battle at the Gates (ooc)

We start talking to each other about our feelings!
Dara wishes her family could see her, we remind her that her family is all with us. "You're mother is here" with Dara
"On Matron-" as a phrase now exists
Talking to Hops- Manny tells him that he puts too much pressure on himself, that the two of them do that all the time.
"You always use to say we could conquer anything" (OUCH. knife through my heart) I think Manny's response was that there are more people on their side, that they're also surrounded by family (I think)
"We're all parts of the same body" Dara-one arm Merrli-Hand, Manny-second arm Eles-Heart
Manny tells Hops that he's "not an abacus". Hops starts to trust us again, but definitely gave us another earful about abandoning Manny.
 
Now we're talking to some people from Candlekeep about Dorath.
This was a common trick used in the 1st demon wars. Decapitate the nation by making the top person unconscious.
"Never After Life"
We tell Hops about the Void, he doesn't think we need to wake up Dorath.
 
"You're not even the shit, you're the taint" No idea.
We find out "Dwarfatello" is the sculpture of the Baelo statue.
 
What was it that made Yanef send a raven to me? We revealed some information that freaked her out? That we spoke with the matron?
"Please inform our shepherd to keep that more on the down low" What is on the DL? don't remember.
 
Eles gets a bad dream, a vision of Dorath pleading with Malakar for his life. It feels like she was there.
In the morning, it's decided that we have to at least try and save Dorath. Eles and Merrli cast a combo of Scry and Dispel Evil on Dorath.
Can feel that the dispel took affect, but nothing appears different. There's a tinge that we have access to an afterlife soul. Through the scry, we see Dorath in the Ne'er After Land. Wis save, Merrli passes, Eles does not! Dorath is now pleading with us to "take him back"
Through an insight check, Eles knows this is Dorath, and if we can get him out, he will be free of Malakar. We end up successful, but we reveal to Malakar that Merrli and Eles are still (again?) alive. Oops
 
"I try to catch my breath I don't have", "I'm a nice, cared for dead body" Merrli, I presume.
 
Dorath turns to Dara and goes sheet white. "You're Dead..." "Surprise." "We buried you" "We buried your armor" "Where were you" "Hell" "3 years, I lost my daughter. I had her for 3 weeks"
Perception on Dorath, verbatim from my notes "he's alive, but this is no Theoden moment, he looks like shit"
Eles tries to help Dara and Dorath by explaining what happened, in plain terms.
 
Everyone leaves the room, leaving Dara and Dorath alone. They share a moment, that I didn't write down, but Kate has at least part of what Dara said.
Dorath asks Dara if she wants a battalion, she answers "yes" immediately, catches herself, and says "no" Dorath answers, "that's disappointing."
Dara says something like, "they'll be better than yours" about a fighting force that she could lead.
 
A CRASH in the mountains, and a messenger comes sprinting. "They're breaking our gates now" Dorath reaches for his leg, Dara breaks it. He then calls for his wheelchair to watch from the parapets, or some castle/keep part that I don't remember the name of.
 
4 Tabaxi rock up to the party.
Manny tells Hops that Dorath is awake. He already knows Affgroth is being attacked. No signs yet of the 2nd gate being breached. Massive hole where the 1st gate used to be.
"Bold of you to think I care about her personality", "I forgot you think with your ovaries."
 
Dara, Eles and 2 Tabaxi guards stick together, to hold their own, while waiting for backup from Merrli's teleportation circle.
 
HUH?! "If you want to fuck the flower, don't do it on the map" some follow-up joke about "de-flowering"
"Can you have a reverse banishment so we can summon a gun?"
 
We FIGHT! We WIN! ...then we hear what sounds like a fucking dragon thumping towards us.
