The Canyon
 
We set the trap. We sprung it perfectly.
But victory tastes like ashes today.
 
How It Happened:

  • Aidan covered the militia’s retreat, the Dora roaring in his hands.

  • Three raiders rushed him with energy blades—squad tactics, military precision.


    • He took two down… but the third—the blade cut through armor like paper. I watched his bio-sign flatline from orbit.

    No last words. Just static.
     
    Aftermath:
  • Beñat executed the killer mid-swing. Cold. Methodical. Personal.

  • Lucid’s Danger Bot crushed the last raider’s skull.

  • Silence fell over the comms. Even Astrid stopped swearing.


    • We won. We lost our friend.

  • If no one checks in every day, within 72 hours, a team from the company will be sent to Veii to "liquidate" the settlement



    • This wasn’t banditry. It was corporate genocide.
     
    Aidan’s Legacy
     
    We recovered what we could. His upper half’s in cryo.
     
    Lucid’s already scheming up the code for a neural interface jar (so he can yell at us again). Our long-term goal is some mech-suit frame ("He’d hate being a spectator," Lucid insists).
     
    But it won’t be him. Not really — and we'll need to start looking for a replacement.
     
    The ship feels hollow without his sarcastic commentary and his terrible coffee. Plus, he detected psionic storms before sensors and I'll never forget how he saved Beñat’s ass on Galvao IV.
     
    Next Steps
    1. Infiltrate VapeTech’s Veii Office (Look for evidence, steal deployment codes)
    2. Mobilize a Militia (Alana’s training locals with scavenged ARC blades)
    3. Prepare for War (We can't keep up the ruse forever)

    Astrid: Scorched a raider’s insignia into the bulkhead. "For the bastard."
    Alana: Took first watch. Her new blade, "Payback," glows in the dark.
