Compendium il' Arcanum 08

by Nadi Marquestor

As the sun sets we all go our separate ways, Haya looked like she needed to blow off some steam, but Balmyr went with, things should be okay. Hale accompanied Sioban to her parents home, in the Aegis conclave, quiet the surprise. Shirayuki and I have important business to attend to at the mages tower, arcane studies can not simply sit idly by why we gather information about Irorey Goldbeard and his cosmology.

It feels to be good to be back in a familiar setting and to a task I know well, magic! Shirayuki is a kind assistant, though some practice is needed, I am glad to have her by my side. A beaver appears, and does not finish the ritual food, and storms to me angry, accusing me of mind control, out loud. It seems this soul is trapped as an animal, after crossing one of the great witches, and Shirayuki may even know more. I warn him that heading into town is a bad idea, but instead he kicks me and storms off, well this is a mistake.

Shirayuki on the other hand decides to face death by nearly stepping off the tower and singing at the top of her lungs until she a small pseudo-dragon flies into her arm. I attempt again, though it feels the world is pushing against me, and with Shirayuki's help it stabilizes, of course until the small beast decided to try and eat my face. That is until a knife plunges into my back, "she could only love one of us". Who is he talking about? I attempt to quell the situation by immobilizing the attacker, but I cannot concentrate with all this blood. Then I see it, the rage in Shirayuki's eye's, oh no she is going to...

***The world goes bright and loud, then is plunged into darkness***

I was able to push the earth around me and protect the pseudo dragon, and Sioban and Hale come to dig out. They need to find Shirayuki.. quickly, I couldn't get around to it. We keep looking and eventually I hear her.... wait she is the pseudo dragon... oh dear. I really need a rest, this is too much.

Of course the guards come, right on time, and do their investigation, but oddly Walden is with them, the Edgewalker. He is laying out these small stones, turning the residual wild magic into light. It seems he believes that we are touched by this blessing or curse, some ability to draw magic near us, until something explodes however. This doesn't seem to be able to create a ward in ourselves, however there was no focus. It seems Quarian had used the weapon of spearfall in order to kill a good and forge the wardland. He is far more free with information than expected. The wardland can be strained though by those who push against the structure of the wardland. The Talentar, the western elves who followed the adversary, created devices to punch holes in the wardland, allowing others to enter unannounced.
