With the King taking his leave, we were able to enjoy this beautiful spread, and better yet Sir Treasuremane handed me the device given over by the King. What a specimen! Ademantine, holly artifact, a bit odd, quite the thing for our powerful priest.
It seems there are still more challenges for the day, and we talk over how to go about tackling this.
First up an Arcane battle, against a formidable opponent, another Wizard some abjurer or divination expert, not really my thing, Vozi Davakri. Things start off great, but I quickly realize that maybe I am not worth it, maybe I shouldn't have come. Vozi seems to have some tricks up her sleeves, but I don't remember her being that good. Vozi truly is mean, but even if you are cruel, there is nothing like burning clothes to slap you awake.
Snow is able to quickly make work of her opponent, she is scary.
Hale is up against Moraga of Sygral, an old foe from the fighting tourney. Her opponent cuts their flesh and spills blood unto Hale, it is truly a disgusting tactic. Hale wisely throws cover up filling the circle with fog. Shadows dance through the fog swarming over Hale, and at the final moment a ray of light lashes through the darkness pushing the shadows out into oblivion. Hale clearly had enough and sends Moraga flying with a wave of force.
Sioban faces off with Quinine Valerian, an interesting druid, who someone convinces her to just walk away.
I hope Haya is doing well with the crowds!
In the library Dwarves relied on elemental, artifice (items with magical power and constructs) , and it seems they were huge war constructs, even to the point to a guard tower was later found to be a basilisk beetle. It seems 7 more of these massive constructs exist, as the Tor's outer defenses. Though only a few remain which could be restarted with the right manuals. Mainline thinking was magic you could share, was much more noble than holding it in yourself. These all failed in the face of the Adversary, who corrupted our constructs in order to create his anti-magic gargoyles and subsequently bring Nashentar to heel.
Hale looks for more information on Tagur Blu Hold, what will await us, likely the undead and certainly goblins, and all manner of residual magic. Finds a manual of Stoneheart ritual to make something of a Dwarven Lich, a frightening spell indeed.
This mage renounced his Dwarvish heritage, and went by Goldbeard, a student of the world and turned his nose down at the help of extra planar entities. He was able to heal the god of Magic with his own power, and free the Tor of the influence of extra planar entities.
What could this mean, clearly using the power of his own soul, if it could be so powerful, as guardians would be wise. Though if we destroy these, would it just open up this land to the Adversary? Clearly he would find being some form of patron an insult, but his power just being destroyed seems to be a waste. It is questionable if his mind would be fully in tact, a Dwarf overrun by goblins.
Sioban joins us a bit late in the evening, and we catch her up, she mentions her parents may know more, it would be good to learn what we can.
