Thorne served in the Imperial Army from a young age, joining up as a simple recruit and quickly moving through the ranks with his natural ability to lead and strategize. After a few years of serving as a Sergeant he made it into the Officer program and quickly became a Lieutenant of a unit.
Serving in the Unification War, he fought against the other Human kingdoms of Elastar and the Wood Elves of the southern forests of Halcyon. Witnessing many horrors and injustice that were visited upon these people made him resent the army.
When he went with the guard forces to the Ewhua'tahn to protect the lumber and mining crews seeing the crimes visited upon the last of the Wood Elves in their homeland he had enough. Deserting the forces he fled to the city of Wirvaan where he laid low for a few years as a factory foreman using the skills he picked up as an officer of the army.
Eventually he made his way back to the city of Mori to work as a mercenary until one day he met with Lysandra. Hearing her speak about the injustices she suffered at the hands of a greedy mine owner and corrupt government officials he decided to help her break into the office of a magistrate. However things went wrong when she confronted the magistrate and lost her cool and shot him.
Afterwards they decided to form an organisation to bring lasting change to the sytem.
