Appearance

Physical Description

Tall for a goblin but small for a humanoid, Kai has a somewhat petite physique that makes her fast but frail. Her skin is sea green, likely pointing to her island heritage.

Facial Features

With her large eyes and expressiveness, Kai can certainly be called cute. (At least until you see her tiny sharp goblin teeth.)

Identifying Characteristics

Kai's most notable features are her needlessly long ears and short, messy blue hair usually pulled into a bun. She is usually dressed in dark, rogueish clothes.

Apparel & Accessories

Kai's main outfit is a simple black shirt and pants with a purple half-robe and occasionally fingerless gloves. She also wears a green Cloak of Elvenkind (usually discarding the half-robe) and a fuzzy purple Scarf of Elemental Protection which is her most prized, non-shiny possession (besides the stuffed flufflepuff).
 
Though she usually is dressed darkly for practical reasons, she doesn't mind lighter colours or pretty dresses when not adventuring.

Special abilities

Kai was trained to used daggers and throwing knives. With her natural stealth and thievery skills, this has made her well-suited as a rogue.
 
While on her adventure, she suddenly developed magical powers from an unknown source, which have only continued to appear more strongly.
 
Besides combat skills, she also has the uncanny ability to decorate cakes and recall (occasionally false) knowledge on a variety of topics she eavesdropped on through her years of travel.

Mentality

Personal history

Born near the southwestern seas, Kai has been slowly wandering northward for as long as she could remember. Trailing behind merchant carts and meeting plenty of mysterious travellers has given her a rich diversity of experiences, but one devoid of permanency or personal ties.
 
Shortly before arriving in Ebonfyre, the largest city on the western side of the world, one of these strange travellers taught her how to fight so she could at least defend herself. Though she never saw him again, the lesson has stuck with her.
 
Arriving in Ebonfyre, she met the half-orc traveller Alistair and desert leshy Dezzy, setting off with them in search of adventure (and Dezzy's creator).
 
Adventure brought them all across the Western Riftgrounds, and soon into the center of a plot involving ancient evil dragons, cults, and unbreaking ties to cruel gods.
 
Nothing a barely-adult goblin can't handle! Right...? :)

Education

Having travelled alone for all of her childhood, Kai has received little in the way of formal education, but stories around campfires and from talkative travellers have given her plenty of insight and knowledge into the world.

Employment

Though Kai is more travelling adventurer than anything else, she does pride herself on being an official (almost) level two member of the Adventurer's Association.

Mental Trauma

Kai is generally upbeat and cheerful, but recent stresses have taken their toll. She finds herself worrying about her friends, or her own ability to keep them safe.
 
The constant attacks and threat of their enemy (or not?) Nisse being around any corner has left her more twitchy and anxious as well.
 
While she believes Alistair and Dezzy are strong enough to survive anything, she worries about her friend Balmin being cursed to Osmara's plane if she breaks her promise and fails to save him.

Intellectual Characteristics

With a wide array of knowledge tempered by an impulsive, chaotic nature, Kai knows a lot but could not be called particularly intelligent.

Morality & Philosophy

Kai doesn't spend much time pondering over moral ambiguities, but generally believes in helping people and doing good for others. She is not very selfish and can even be known to share pieces from her highly prized hoard of shinies. If she really likes you.
 
She does sometimes resort to thievery when tempted by something particularly shiny, but this makes her feel bad and she tries to keep that impulsiveness under control.

Kai is grey-biromantic (leaning towards girls) and asexual, though she doesn't usually spend much time thinking of these things and could happily live her life surrounded by only friends.

• Alistair: Though he didn't trust her at first, their rivalry has grown friendly and Kai looks up to him as somewhat of a father figure and the leader of their party.


• Dezzy: When Dezzy isn't trying to make sure Kai isn't getting herself killed, they're close friends just trying to survive together in this adventure.

• ???: A strange traveller who took pity on Kai and taught her to fight before she got herself hurt on the dangerous streets of Ebonfyre.


• The Peddler: Though mysterious and with unknown motives, Kai has trusted the Peddler since he first gave her "the key to the future" (if only because she trusts everyone).


• Kal: A shopkeeper in Travendair, Kal is one of the few other goblins Kai has met and someone she considers an ally.


• Rasmeon: A wizard (and secret dreamwalker) who's aided her party in infiltrating the castle of the gods.

Kai loves all animals and has befriended plenty of small creatures in the past, but her only current pet is Topaz, a baby rockeater tamed with Dezzy's help.
