However, convinced by the rangers he worked with, he chose to take up his family's glaive once more and head out, chasing those dreams of adventure. He left Northswain and Undyr quietly, leaving all of his fame and wealth behind him.
It would be a while before he arrived in Ebonfyre and met Kai and Desert Song. He joined forces with them and soon found himself on a quest above even the tales he used to be told as a child.
Appearance
Physical Description
Strong, towering, and imposing, Alistair is huge, even for a half-orc. Wielding a glaive of his size and wearing a heavy suit of half plate with his agility is nigh unmatched among most mortals.
Body Features
Tall and muscular. Light green skin.
Facial Features
Narrow golden eyes and an angular face. Pointed orc ears.
Identifying Characteristics
You could pick Alistair out of a crowd by his size and face alone, but he's rather normal for a half-orc.
Apparel & Accessories
Generally seen in a suit of heavy half plate, Alistair favours protective clothing and armour at almost all times except for sleeping. He almost always wears a cloak or cape to go with it.
Special abilities
Alistair is well trained in fighting with martial weaponry, especially Thundersong, his glaive. He also possesses a small amount of magical ability he's learned over the course of his adventure through wizardry; he's aware he's not very accurate with offensive spells, so he chooses to use ones that heighten his utility instead.
Mentality
Personal history
A man of great strength and fame, Alistair Ardeen was born to Ungrar and Alaya, legendary adventurers of Undyr. For all his childhood, he would aspire to be just like them; an adventurer worthy of wielding his family's glaive and carrying on the Ardeen legacy. But by the time he could set out on his own as an adult, his parents stopped him, thinking he would merely die out there on his own. Alistair hesitated, kept himself from leaving Northswain, and forgot his dreams entirely.
They had already passed on by the time Alistair fell into a deep depression. He lost his motivations, learned medicine, and worked as a medic for a group of rangers he never learned the names of. He got his fair share of battle experience there.
Soon enough, the rangers realised he wasn't happy, and told him to chase his dreams once more. Reinvigorated, Alistair decided to take up the glaive and his dreams once again, and set out into the Northlands one night, hoping to leave without anyone knowing he was gone. He did not want to be followed and wanted to begin elsewhere anew, on the opposite side of the world where others might not recognise him and he could build more of a name for himself.
Eventually, Alistair turned up in Ebonfyre where he had his fated meeting with Kai and Desert Song, a small goblin and cactus leshy. Alistair simply expected to follow the grand tales of adventure his mother and father used to tell him – of glory, dungeons, and hoards of coin and magic. But he could not foresee this journey, one that would have him hopping about the Endless Sphere itself. Even his mother and father didn't go that far...
Education
Alistair should've learnt more than he did, what with his rich education in Northswain, but he ended up not focusing much, believing he wouldn't need it for his adventuring career. Despite that, Alistair ended up quite the smart individual.
Employment
Currently, Alistair is an adventurer and has accumulated a great deal of wealth over his travels. He worked with a group of rangers as a field medic before; it was his first and only real job. It didn't pay him much, but he never cared because he already had a lot of money – it mostly just gave him something to do.

Mental Trauma
Alistair had depression once, but he made it through that after meeting Kai and Dezzy and going on a huge adventure with them.
Intellectual Characteristics
Over the course of his travel, Alistair has grown more intelligent and wise. He has a good deal of knowledge to call upon, often in the form of stories from his mother and father's adventuring days. He knows a good deal about the world itself and famous monsters, like dragons.
Morality & Philosophy
Before his adventure, Alistair didn't care much for anything, but has grown more compassionate because of Dezzy and Kai. He believes in doing the right thing, being brave for others, and is stubborn when it comes to what he believes is morally correct. He doesn't generally spend much time thinking over moral quandaries and philosophy, though has questioned mortality itself in recent times.
person.sexuality
Alistair is heterosexual. He doesn't really think about love or romance much at this current point, though that almost certainly will change in the future when he decides to settle down and stop adventuring.
Known Languages
Over the course of his adventure, Alistair has picked up on a few other languages, some from his home town he was trying to learn long ago, and others by merely pondering over it. He's fluent in Common and his vocabulary is quite broad. He also knows Dwarven and Elven, and has recently picked up on Jotun. His delivery of all three of those is quite broken, however.
Personality
Motivation
Alistair is motivated by his friends and sheer confidence in his abilities. He wants to protect the world and make a name for himself. He is also very motivated by loot, especially magical items.

Family Ties
Alistair had no siblings or grandparents to look to. He only had his mother and father, Alaya and Ungrar Ardeen, when he was born and that was how it stayed until they passed away. He doesn't focus much on them now.
Religious Views
Alistair dabbled in religion a little back in Northswain, but saw it has pointless in the end. He has little religious opinion, uncaring for the gods.
Social Aptitude
Outgoing, friendly to those friendly with him, and confident. He often has to take the lead in social encounters because his two companions are somewhat shy and don't understand society as well as he does.
