Johan van Stub was the guide recruited by Prof. Amilya Stonerose to guide her to Coal Watch Tower. He accompanied her and the two guards sent by Bridgemaster Ofen Murcher, Gawyn Ryder & Galad Shrike. He stayed behind while the others went into the ruin. He accompanied the two guards back after they told him that Amilya was dead. A few weeks later he was killed by a boulder falling on the roof of his hut. Johan was a peaceful scholarly type who knew all about the history and ruins of the Dustlands.
