Void Dimensions

Void dimensions are plentiful in the Yonderverse. They spawn and die in seconds, their lifespans defined by their usage. Void dimensions are pocket dimensions; often literally carried in one's pocket. These dimensions are entirely empty and used by carriers as they please. Their typical use is for mass storage, however the A to Zoo is a famous example of utilising a void dimension, transforming a warm void into a supermassive zoological collection.

Typical void dimensions only exist for a few minutes to a few hours. Their lives are short and snappy, unless someone can capture one quickly enough.

Capturing a Void Dimension

With the right tools, capturing a void dimension is rather easy. All this process requires is a void snare, obtained at any high-ranking magical toolshop. Void snares are a handheld gadget, similar in shape and size to a simple taser.

Point the void snare into an open area, press a central yellow button, and several tendrils will shoot out, ripping through into any nearby void dimension, capturing it and transmuting it into a tiny pearl.

In its pearl form, void dimensions are useless, but when taken to a voidsmith, it can be further transmuted into any item. A common form is a backpack, with a wormhole in the form of various pockets.

Warm and Cold Voids

Void dimensions are categorised based on their ability to support life. While both warm and cold voids are more than capable of sustaining life, one is more likely than the other.

Warm Voids
Warm voids often contain vast and abundant lifeforms. Typically feeding on raw forms of energy, organisms in warm voids float around their entire lives, with little to no purpose other than survive and reproduce.

Examples: A to Zoo Dimension
Cold Voids
Life often struggles to sustain itself in cold voids. While they are never without native lifeforms, in many cases, single-celled organisms and tiny bacterias are all you will find. These voids are more popular than warm voids, as they can be utilised and transformed with little worry about harming native life.

Does anyone sell these void pearls? Or are they so easy to get that people just obtain their own?

Anyone that knows what they're doing! It's a somewhat difficult task, so voidsmiths also sell these pocket dimensions, as well as transmute pre-captured ones :D

Love the process of capturing a void to turn into a bag of holding haha. So fun and unique! Also really interesting that the A to Zoo is in one of these voids.

I just think you're neat!   Check out SanZera or support me on Ko-Fi!
