Saffron Shaker

Saffron shakers are small mushroom species that produce copious amounts of saffron, a popular spice on Earth and Greenerth. They grow in warm climates, native to the west of the Region of Sarra, in the grasslands. They grow in the summer warmth, and temperatures can be replicated manually allowing for farming all year round.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The cap of the mushroom is a peach colour with a velvety texture. The cap extends down towards the ground, roughly two thirds of the height of the mushroom. The gills underneath are made of saffron, and when ripe the gills dangle down.

Ecology and Habitats

They grow in open environments, in the grasslands of western Region of Sarra. They grow separate from others, spaced out by a few metres. They can only grow in warm temperatures.

Ooo, fascinating. Is the make up the same as saffron or do the gills just have the same colour and flavour as saffron?

They produce the same thing! Where it would grow on the crocus it grows as the gills, when the saffron is ripe it looks exactly like it does on the flower :)
