Porcupie
Porcupies are a delicious pastry originating in the Nakkan Grasslands of Emycelium. The pies originally required the blood of a porcupine, but this practice is outdated since nakkan porcupines were reclassified as endangered.
Poor Poor Porcupine
Nowadays you would not expect a serukian to ever harm an animal. Unfortunately, the farther back in history you tread, the more brutal and sinister serukians become. The nakkan porcupine's defensive nature did not go down well with serukians about six hundred years ago.
Porcupines were ruthlessly hunted and their numbers decreased. The bodies were cooked, the quills harvested and used as weapons or writing utensils, and their blood was used to flavour foods. Porcupies became popular, their blood being a crucial ingredient.
Thankfully it is now illegal to kill and eat a nakkan porcupine. Instead of using their blood, bakers like to create a porcupine shaped piece of pastry on top of the pie, as decoration. Thin strips of fruit are often used in place of their quills. A mixture of cooked fruits are used as the filling.
