Fat-Tailed Jerboa

Fat-tailed jerboas are a small rodent species from the Looming Desert of Norrab. They are small herbivorous creatures, far too fast and elusive to be decently studied.

Anatomy

Most of what is known about fat-tailed jerboas come from deceased specimens. They rarely reach more than ten centimetres in length, with a three-centimetre long body. They have grey-blue fur, with lighter grey skin. Fur only grows on the body and head, leaving arms, legs, and the tail naked.

Fat-tailed jerboas have a large head and a short neck, appearing as if the head and body is one single unit. Their legs are long and wide for high speed hopping and running. On the contrary, their arms are just a few millimetres in length and practically useless.

Diet

Fat-tailed jerboas are mostly herbivorous. They eat plants that grow the same height as the animal, often short grasses and flowers. Pollen makes up a decent percentage of the diet, seeking out the few flowers found in the Looming Desert.
