The Ritual

Alaxar the Wise has acquired the Lionheart, Inverstone, Charstone and Hailstone from the players, and has secretly acquired the stone of undeath himself. Now, he has started the ritual to transfigure himself into a Lich, using the Lichstone as a phylactery.   This can be approached in one of two ways: Stop the Ritual, and Help Alaxar.

Stop the Ritual

If the players choose to oppose Alaxar and stop his ritual, The watcher offers to imbue them with energy. This allows them to regain their spell slots, but not hp or other abilities.

Help Alaxar

If the players choose to help Alaxar complete his ritual successfully, Ioun blesses them, gifting them all their spell slots back and healing them to full Hp. This method has two phases   The Portal The Watcher has opened a portal into Alaxar's Private Study in Ioun's Realm, flooding the space with its minions. The players must initially find a method to close the portal. Every round, 1d4+1 creatures enters the realm via the portal. The players must destroy the 5 pillars surrounding the portal, each with an AC of 15 and 25 Hp. Once 3 portals have been destroyed, only 2 creatures emerge from the portal each round. If the Characters reach this state before the 10th round, one of the pillars reforms once.   Rounds and Creatures
