Inver
Inver, known as the Last Dragonlord and the Omen of Death, was an ancient great dragon who ruled as Dragonlord over the continent of Yaleakasardia alongside his queen Areksa during the Before for an unknown number of years before he was slain at the conclusion of the Dragon War in the Dragon Temple. Inver was worshipped as a god by the members of the Dragon Order, and considered to be the creator and ruler of the universe.
Descriptions
Name
The name "Inver" is what is generally agreed upon to have been his name. Transcription of Nadrāin historical writings is inherently difficult and dangerous due to the Witch's Curse's effect on writing, though not impossible. Additionally, a number of documents of the Dragon Order were written in Draconic, and by the time of the first historical research into the subject done by the Order of the Giftkeepers, the language was almost forgotten, known by only the few remaining Dragonkind and some others. In all documents referencing Inver, he is given that name, but it is unknown whether "Inver" is a one-word descriptor, or the dragon's actual name, and whether or not this name was conferred upon him or chosen by him.
This naming is disputed by Phileus Destrophy in the King's Chronicles, stating that:
What can be known about Inver is that no one actually knows his name. To most outside of the Dragon Order, his name would have not been known widely, and if he was known, he would not have been referred to by name, as evidenced by his title, "The Omen of Death." The Giftkeepers, wise and helpful as they were, pulled a variety of incorrect translations from their source documents, regardless of their expertise in Nadrāin. The name Inver, contextually, appears to have meant "Black Wing", in reference to his black scales.
Despite this, Destrophy concedes the name Inver as the popular and rightful name that should have been given to the dragon.
Titles
Inver held several titles throughout his lifespan, both self-appointed and given. His most important one was of course Dragonlord, which was used in most documents referencing him as the ruler of the continent. Though his styling of Dragonlord was no different than other Dragonlords which reigned throughout the continent, Inver was recognized as the predominant force of rule, essentially an emperor to kings.
Throughout the Dragon War, Inver's attacks on settlements of the Elves and First Men, as well as his engagements in numerous battles, he became known as an, "Omen of Death," in that his appearance on a battlefield meant certain defeat of the other side. Until the Incursion at the Dragon Temple, Inver did not lose any engagements throughout his lifetime.
In recent history, Inver has been recognized with the title of, "The Last Dragonlord," given that Inver was the final dragon to have been slain in the Dragon War, making him the final dragonlord as well.
Appearance
Inver was said to have been, "The greatest of the great dragons," recognizing both his importance as the paramount dragonlord and his purportedly enormous size. In historical record, the Dragon Temple in Yandasard is often said to have been one of the largest buildings ever built in history, built to accommodate the citizenry, as well as Inver himself who chose the temple as his roost.
One of Inver's most recognizable feature was his scales, which were reported to be, "Black as night," on his back, and a dark red on his underside, though his underside also appeared black depending on the lighting. His eyes also appeared a similar shade of red.
Inver boasted two large wings, which he furled up when walking on the ground. He walked on four legs, and his feet had large claws he used while fighting. In battle, Inver often also devoured humanoid opponents using his large jaws, which he could also breathe ice out of.
