Visctherian Analogs

The world is not everlasting. The Strutheo Star proved that. When the destruction came, we knew we had to act. So we began to write.
— Visctherian Analogs Introduction

The Visctherian Analogs were initially an effort to record Visctherian history and save it from being erased by the mass extinction event known as the Impact of the Strutheo Star, but quickly grew into more as the Cradles opened and intergalactic interaction became more common. Once other cultures began to interact with Visctheria, the Analogs became an easy way to both catalog those interactions and also share important pieces of history with the newcomers.

Beginnings

When the Strutheo Star struck Visctheria, most of the world was annihilated. The historians and scientists that remained alive on the planet immediately began a collaborative push to rescue the information that survived, putting together a virtual database that would hold the story of the world that had been destroyed.

It started with a lone Prism Server, kept safe and protected in the remains of the central Eastern Continent. As the remaining Arcanists began to separate into the Visctherian Explorers and the beginnings of the Interworld Arcanist Society, one Server became more, and eventually many. Thousands of records, articles of history, recordings of conversations and music, and careful scans of artwork and printed media were delicately gathered, building a stronger chance of survival for Visctheria's story.

Upgrades

Once the Orbital Rings had been constructed, one of the first things transported to the new living facilities was the Servers of what had come to be known as the Visctherian Analogs. The Servers were given a special branch of the Upper Ring, dedicated to the study of what remained of the world's Magic, and continued to grow. They were fully organized and cataloged by a carefully chosen few Arcanists, and soon the Servers themselves were upgraded to higher storage capacities to allow for further growth.

Impact

The Visctherian Analogs would save the entirety of Visctherian history from extinction. Without the records, much knowledge of the world as it once was would have been lost, and very few alive today would have any clue as to what life was like on the surface of the planet. The Analogs provide a necessary glimpse into what happened pre-Impact, and give an in-depth analysis of what has drastically changed. Many New Viscans depend on the Analogs for familial records, and without the Analogs, the first intercultural interactions with other planets would have been vastly more difficult.

Organization

The Analogs are carefully cataloged by entry number, the year they were logged, and the Arcanist Identification Number (AIN) given to each Arcanist that worked on the Analogs.

The entry on the planet Visctheria was logged as follows:

ENTRY NUMBER | YEAR | AIN
01.03.4232

The format went through a few rough drafts before being finalized, and month and day were originally included before being scrapped to save storage space.

Arcanist 4232

One of the most interesting parts of the history of the Visctherian Analogs is the first creator of the records, and the Arcanist that would come to be known as Arcanist 4232. Responsible for the very first entries of the Analogs and thousands after, 4232 is none other than Deliah herself.

Deliah
Item | Dec 16, 2025

She mapped the path of the Strutheo Star in the early Heroic Age, and her findings changed the world.

The little automaton was kept functional for hundreds of years after Vyktyr Strutheo's death, and would prove invaluable in both the creation and programming of the Analogs, as well as the creation of the first records. The exact origin of her number assignment is unknown, but many suspect it is the number of tries it took Strutheo to successfully complete her construction.
