Bright Elf Weapons

Amethyst Falcata

A short sword with an inward curved bronze blade. The handle of the blade is carved from a single large piece of Amethyst crystal, with inclusions of colorless quartz throughout. This crystal can store large amounts of Mana which can then be used to cast spells through the sword later. The sword itself is great for hacking through objects with ease.

When this blade is charged with large amounts of Aether, the crystal starts to defract light in a large radius, making it difficult to see the wielder. Once the weapon reaches saturation, when it can't be charged anymore, the sword along with the user becomes almost fully invisible. At this point the wielder can make a quick getaway or silently move in for the kill.

Length: 30 in Weight: 16 oz
Materials: Anethyst (Handle and Support), Bronze (Blade)

Carnelian Xiphos

A Straight bronze sword with a small crossguard and handle made of carnelian crystal. The Iron impurities in the crystal give the sword a resistance to magic, allowing the user to power through spells with ease. It does make it more difficult for the wielder to cast magic themselves though.

On the world of Vreathe, nearly all weapons are made of Iron, giving nearly everyone who uses one some amount of resistance to magical attacks. Bronze weapons aren't uncommon, but are often mage weapons, used to quickly channel spells in one direction. On the world of Izi, it is the other way around as nearly all weapons are made of bronze or crystal in some way and iron weapons are rather rare. Magic resisting weapons are still necessary, giving rise to various swords such as these.

Length: 34 in Weight: 18 oz
Materials: Carnelian (Handle and crossguard), Bronze (Blade)

Corundum Scepter

The large ball of ruby and sapphire crystal allows this weapon to store rather absurd amounts of mana, and it can greatly amplify almost every type of Elemental Magic. The Silver handle ensures that there is no resistance between a user's skin and the weapon, allowing all magical energy to easily flow from the user to the weapon and back. Cast large-scale spells that cover the battlefield is easy with this scepter.

It also makes for an effective melee weapon in the right hands. Corrundum is a hard, dense mineral, and can bash skulls and crush bones as easily as any bronze or iron weapon can. Combined with its compatibility with a number of magical elements, this weapons can also defeat most types of armor.

Length: 40 in Weight: 36 oz
Materials: Ruby/Sapphire (Mace Head), Silver (Handle)

Malachite Spear

Malachite is a Copper-Carbon based mineral, which makes this spear excellent for storing and channeling magic of all types. The shaft is made of Olphir-wood, which comes from the trees that grows underground. This wood is extremely dense and won't immediately break when hit with a bronze blade.

Malachite isn't the only mineral or crystal that Fire Elves use in their spears. There are actually dozens of different materials that can be used. Despite all the many different bladed weapons that the Fire Elves have, their most common weapon are actually Spears. Town Guards and roaming soldiers are almost always armed with them.

Due to the Moon Izi's low gravity (except for when near a Stable Stone), a skilled Elf can throw these spears over a kilometer away with pinpoint accuracy.

Length: 70 in Weight: 40 oz
Materials: Malachite (Support Material) Bronze (Spearhead), Olphir-wood (Shaft)

Marble Scimitar

Blades made of anything other than Bronze and crystal are rare among the Fire Elves. This Marble scimitar has a nickel-Iron blade and was possibly created from a meteorite. It has been passed from Elf to Elf for so long across so many thousands of years that no one knows how it was originally made.

It isn't known how this weapon maintained its razor sharp cutting edgeover all this time. The Serpentine crystal on the backing and handle of the weapon can amplify the ability to cast Metal Magic, but it isn't known to preserve the metal it touches. More than anything, the existence of this sword indicates that Elven civilization on the moon Izi used to be in a much better state than it is now.

Length: 46 in Weight: 26 oz
Materials: Serpentine Marble (Handle, Support) Nickel-Iron (Blade)

Onyx Machete

Machetes are common among Fire Elves in the underground areas of Izi. These blades are usually used more as tools, being used to slash through thick underbrush and harvest crops. Butchers use these to slice through larger cuts of meat. It is still a large heavy blade however, and is more than sufficient as a weapon.

While this example has a backing made of onyx crystal, most are usually made of wood. Onyx, being a type of chalcedony quartz, can store large amounts of mana, but unlike other types of quartz, it leaks this magical energy quickly over time. This had the effect of turning the bronze blade blue, but otherwise doesn't seem to have a unique use. Even on Vreathe, onyx isn't useful beyond magically turning metals different colors.

Length: 30 in Weight: 30 oz
Materials: Onyx (Handle, Support), Bronze (Blade)

Pyrite Axe

A large Iron weapon that appears to be made of gold, but it is of the fool's variety. The axe head was created by growing pyrite crystals next to each other for several hundred years, its growth greatly amplified by magic. Once it reached a large enough size, it was carefully ground down into the shape of a large axe head. The head is then attached to Bronze then attached to a large wooden shaft. As this process takes centuries and isn't always successful, there aren't many pyrite weapons among the Fire Elves on Izi.

Pyrite has a special ability that even the people of Vreathe have known about for thousands of years. When charged with enough mana and when striking another object with enough force, Pyrite will transfer its properties to the object, then that object will violently explode.

It doesn't seem to matter what the object is made of, as long as it isn't organic in nature. Some metals like Iron, Cobalt, and Nickel are resistant to the effects, but as the majority of weapons on Izi are made of Bronze, a pyrite axe is quite a difficult weapon to fight against. Travelers from Vreathe don't have that issue...

Length: 72 in Weight: 54 oz
Materials: Pyrite (Axe Head), Olphirwood (Shaft), Bronze (Connecting Pieces)

Lucia
Something not a lot of people know.... Pyrite is also an excellent material for casting Blood Magic. I'm not going to explain how I know that! If you know, you know.

Sulfurite Falchion

A large, heavy curved sword made of sulfured bronze. Creating Gem Bronze isn't that different of a process from creating Gem Steel. In the case of this Sulfurite Falchion, Native Aethercite crystals were added to molten bronze and charged with mana as it cooled.

The resulting crystalline blade is much stronger than normal bronze, and it inherits the magical properties of native sulfur, which is its ability to convert one type of magic into another. On the moon Izi, this property is exploited usually to turn all incoming magic spells into fire magic, a magc type which all fire Elves are immune to.

Length: 50 in Weight: 40 oz
Materials: Sulfured Bronze (All)

Ash Elf Weapons

Cinnabar Greatsword

This massive, heavy weapon was carved from a cluster of Cinnabar crystals. Normally this mineral is far too soft to be used as any sort of tool, and it is also toxic to humans and elves due to the mercury content. The Fire Elves of Izi seem to suffer no such reaction.

Mercury when charged with mana can be quickly manipulated to liquify or solidify and harden to that of Steel very quickly. The Crystal softens this effect somewhat, but allows the shape to be changed very quickly as well simply by charging the weapon with aether.

If not for the fact this weapon is quite heavy so is slower to use than other weapons, it would be difficult to fight against, blocking or striking the sword will just cause the attacker's own sword to phase through the object as if there was nothing there. The user of the cinnabar sword can even have the sword solifidy early and get the attacker's weapon stuck inside, which can make disarming them and winning the fight an easy thing to do.

If a Cinnabar sword is heated very quickly, the mercury will quickly vaporize and leave the weapon, leaving a nearly useless chunk of sulfur behind.

Length: 56 in Weight: 70 oz
Materials: Cinnibar (All)

Renelle
"A few of the knights on my team had trouble against Ash Elves using these swords. Good thing we had Claudia or that mercury poisoning would have taken most of us out."

"How did I defeat my opponent?.... Obviously it was Fire Magic! It really does solve all my problems!"

Obsidian Scimitar

Carved and chiped from a single large piece of Obsidian glass, this weapon is quite heavy and difficult to use, and it is also one of the sharpest weapons that can be found among Fire Elven weapons.

Charging Obsidian glass will harden it, preventing the naturally brittle material from breaking when striking harder materials. This allows it to cut through copper and other soft metals with ease, as well as flesh and bone.

The wings at the base of the weapon suggest that it was originally much larger, and that either there is a limit to just how large an obsidian sword can be until it breaks and chips under its own weight, or the weapon struck something too hard for mana to compensate for, such as Bronze or Iron.

Length: 46 in Weight: 40 oz
Materials: Obsidian (All)

Torbernite Sword

A large, heavy longsword carved from one singularly large piece of torbernite, a radioactive copper-uranium mineral. This weapon gives off a natural yellowish-green glow and a non-Fire Elf would describe it was warm when holding it in their hands.

Charging the weapon with mana or aether can cause it to rapidly give off heat and bright light. If aetheric saturation is reaches, then a violent explosion is created, and nothing, not even the wielder, is safe from this explosion even at considerable distance.

Fire Elves are not immune to radiation so it isn't known why they would create such a weapon. Perhaps the heat given off by the weapon reminded them of their fire god.

Length: 48 in Weight: 38 oz
Materials: Torbernite (All)

Deep Elf Weapons

Lapis Lazuli Dagger

Sometimes called the Treaty Dager. This is a blade created from a deep blue stone that is actually comprised of three separate minerals: Lazurite, Pyrite, and Calcite. Each of these minerals have special abilities and can greatly enhance magic spells of specific elements, including Fire, Water, and Earth.

Only three of these daggers were ever made. Several thousand years ago, the chief priestess of the Deep Elves created these weapons to symbolize a treaty between the three factions of Fire Elves. When the ancient treaties broke, the Bright Elves shattered their dagger and the Ash Elves threw theirs into a lava sea where it melted and sank.

The last remaining dagger stayed in the chief priestess's possession for quite some time until she gifted it to a young half-elf a few years ago.

Length: 12 in Weight: 10 oz
Materials: Lapis Lazuli (Blade and Handle), Diamond Dust (Coating), Bronze (Crossguard)
Notable Users:Garna Sephiru, Imara
