Yokai

The Yokai are a specific species of Fae that are manifested from negative events or happenings. They're often seen as a corruption in the world. Humans refer to them as Demons.   When a sprite is left to grow from the world and experiences negative things, it will be doomed to grow into a Yokai. These corrupted Fae perpetrate the heinous things that fuel them and seek to sow more strife and destruction across the world for the sake of continuing their wretched existence.   A common example of a Yokai is the Oni; a species of Yokai that was born out of violence. Oni are brutish creatures that seek to destroy, kill, and cause violence for the sake of violence; and while their existence depends on it, removing them from the world would require removing or changing violence as a concept.   Yokai are dangerous when manifested; as once one manifests, it is often not too uncommon for more of their kind to continue pouring into the world.
