The Sulfur Pits
The Sulfur Pits is a dangerous realm believed to exist by the faiths of Aine; it is more commonly known as Hell.
It is a burning landscape, pocked by thousands of countless pits filled with bubbling brimstone and burning ash. Whenever a mortal absolves themselves of their sin, their darkest, most evil parts are cast off to burn away in the sulfur pits, purified from the realm. Even Aine was not perfect; for it's believed that his dregs were cast off during his martyrdom and left to burn away inside the deepest recesses of sulfur.
Demons are said to lurk within the Sulfur Pits; made from the burnt, mangled remnants of evil that was far too great to burn away altogether, these deformed creatures seek to enact their vengeance upon the world after they were cast away.
Influence on Culture
The origin of the Sulfur Pits are certainly rooted within the founding of the Holy Church, but where and when still remains lost from history. Its profound influence on culture can be felt across the entire world; Hell is a common phrase in vocabularies across human boundaries. 'Hell's Bells, What the Hell, and Burn in Hell', for example, are all common adages relating to the Sulfur Pits.Ignan
The Vanks are known for regarding Hell as an actual, genuine realm that can be pulled from and harnessed for power. This unique belief has lead to their country being referred to as Infernal Ignan thanks to the finding of Infernal Miracles; a subsect of Miracles where casters draw forth the fires of the Sulfur Pits to incinerate their enemies.
