The Wind Kissed
The Wind Kissed are a growing movement of those who worship the Djinni Figniss as a deity. Publicly, Figniss decries the organization as flattery; and yet, the Wind Kissed's numbers grow steadily, year in and year out.
The Wind Kissed respect justice, and the quest for truth. They are an open door organization, welcoming all into their fold, and train their recruits in the art of community law enforcement, foresic science, and disaster response.
Structure
Figniss→Aaryn Zephyrian→The Breath Taken→The Six Currents→Second Breaths→The Whispering Veil→The Barefooted→The Proper
Culture
The culture is one of emotional strength and stolid support, combining the strength of the winds and the implacability of the sea into a welcoming spirit of community and equity.
Public Agenda
Their public agenda is to research and reinforce justice throughout their realm. While there is an element of ambition and certainly some internal strife now and again, they actually do a pretty decent job of it.
Demography and Population
The cult is made up mostly of humans and elves, but that is only because humans and elves make up the vast majority of the population in the Sunrathe Wastes. Anybody is welcome to join them, as long as they embody truth and justice.
Foreign Relations
The cult keeps themselves quiet and underground, for the most part, though they are widely accepted as part of the cultural milieu of Djinndarra.

Neglecting the rites, abandoning the seasons, or disrespecting a wind’s name is seen as spiritual rot.Take No Breath That Belongs to Another
This law forbids murder, spiritual theft, soul-binding, or breaking another’s bond to the wind without ritual judgment.Ride in Balance, Stand in Grace
A Wind-Kissed must strive to live in balance—between silence and voice, sand and sky, freedom and responsibility.Forget Not the Stillness Between Waves
In all things, reflect before acting. Reaction without breath is chaos unshaped.Mythology & Lore
The mythology surrounding Figniss is a tapestry of half truths and fictional derring-do, always painting Figniss as an altruistic savior.
Divine Origins
The cult sprung up in tea shops and coffee houses around Djinndarra, as word spread of Figniss' benevolence and wisdom.
Cosmological Views
The Breathwheel
They understand the universe to be a great, ever turning wheel of breath and motion, called the Breathwheel. It was spun into motion by the First Wind. The wheel is divided into five Realms, each of which is tied to a Breath, an Element, and an Aspect.- The Realm of Inhale-The Sky that Remembers Described as the place where winds are born—ideas before speech, voice before songs. Souls come from this realm, each riding a strand of the First Wind.
- Element: Air Breath: Beginning Aspect: Awakening, beginning, inspiration
- The Realm of Crest-The Wave that Rises Where the great currents of feeling and momentum stir. The sea is sacred here. Surfing is considered a ritual reenactment of life rising toward potential.
- Element: Water Breath: Transformation Aspect: Emotion, passion, movement
- The Realm of Gale – The Fire That Tests This is not hell, but the windstorm—where spirits are shaped through trial. Sometimes called the “Great Hissing Spiral.” Those who endure the gale are said to be “shaped by fire without burning.”
- Element: Flame Breath: Challenge Aspect: Struggle, change, cleansing
- The Realm of Stillness – The Stone That Waits A realm of cool caves, buried echoes, and unchanging truths. Spirits go here to reflect after death, or before rebirth.
- Element: Ground Breath: Pause Aspect: Rest, reflection, memory crystallized
- The Realm of Exhale – The Breath That Frees Final breath, final wave, final flight. The soul returns here before choosing to disperse, reincarnate, or ascend.
- Element: Spirit Breath: Release Aspect: Death, freedom, transcendence
Mythical Beings
- The First Wind – A cosmic force, not a deity, that breathed motion into the stillness. Its breath created possibility.
- The Seven Breezes – Minor wind spirits tied to seasons, moods, and festivals. Some are gentle, some mischievous, some solemn.
- The Whisper Between – A near-divine concept: the pause between breaths, decisions, lives. Said to be where Figniss listens for truth.
- Figniss the Surfer – Not a god, but the exemplar of balance. Some believe he once rode the edge of every realm and returned unchanged.
The Afterlife
The soul rides the Last Wave upon death, carried on the Wind That Frees, to the Breathwheel. There, it is judged not by law or deeds, but by balance—did it ride well, breathe well, fall and rise with grace? Many return, reincarnated as those drawn to wind, wave, and wandering. Some choose to remain as dust on the wind, whispering lessons into the ears of sages.Tenets of Faith
- Breathe in Truth, and Speak with Grace
- Balance Freedom with Flow
- Give Generously, Hold Lightly
- Ride What Comes
- Honor the Space Between
- Cause No Stagnation
- Do Not Steal Another’s Wind
Ethics
You will not commit the sin of Stillbreath, fearfully clinging to one routine or comfort. Nor shall you let Crosswinds mar your speech with lies or broken oaths. The cruel words of the Galespoken do naught but hurt and humiliate, and the Sandchoked only accumulate wealth and power; never love and peace. Breath Stealing is anathema to Figniss, as coersion and control are antithetical to his words. You will not Wavecrash, as reckless action and harmful impulse oft lead weaker minds astray. The willful ignorance of Cloud Blindness creates a mire while looking for common footing, and the destructive possessiveness of Spiralbinding breaks more than hearts. Deadwind is cruelty without cause, and is despised by Figniss. The hubris of False Flight, or pretending to be more than one actually is, will eventually destroy the mind. Skylock is the sin of forbidding anyone freedom, and shall never be unjust.
Priesthood
The priesthood starts with The Barefooted, who listen more than they speak, and learn more than they teach. Then come the Breathholders, these are Novices who have completed the Rite of Listening Wind and taken their first oath. Next come Wave Binders, who are the backbone of the priesthood, and Second Breaths, who are the senior spiritual leaders. The First Breaths are the High Priests of the order, answering only to The Breath Taken.
Lastly, The Whispered Veil. This urban legend does not exist; there is no covert order within the Wind-Kissed that interperates omens, and suppresses internal corruption. Said to be rankless, faceless, and sometimes even genderless, they are known only by the sound of their breath and their mirrored anklets. They are rumored to report directly to the Breath-Taken, but it may as well be the wind itself; there is no such priestly order.
