Chapter 2: The Folly of Tall woods.

Set in and Around a town called "The Tall Woods", the town is built inside and surrounding an ancient wooden stump.

The players should be made to fear leaving the town due to "The Beast" being in the surrounding area. Due to this the players will be forced to stay in the town due to a travel ban going on.

When the players inquere about The Beast in town or the travel ban with one of the Town Gaurds (Tim Oakheart), they are directed to speak with Mayor Mayre Willow at the Mayoral Hall which resides on top of The Hollow.

When the players speak to Mayor Mayre, they are given the task of killing The Beast (though, without much care or expectation of success by Mayor Mayre.) in exchange she'll give them a reward of some sort and make a report on it to fill the groups adventure quota one more slot.

On the way out they are stopped by Lewis Willow, who takes at least Eugene, Elys and Jacobi down to The Mailroom (Eugene seems like he'd share Lewis' enthusiasm, Elys would probably follow him because he seems nice and Jacobi would follow because thats where Eugene and Elys are headed and he doesn't want them to be left alone.) down there he appologises for his wife's behavior. He asks the players for a favour and offers some information to help them out with thier hunt: He asks that they try to find some lost letters and packages as they "Poke around Woodstock.", he's only missing 16 but they are elusive little buggers. He then directs the party towards Elderberry farm and "Evelinn Tiller, she can tell you the whole story. She is a part of it after all.". He offers the players a 5 gold reward for each letter they bring in and if they get all of them he'll "Do a Jolly little Jig, Give you all a kiss and somethings that all Mail Workers dream of having (An Elite Mail Worker Pin, 5 stones of Far Speech, 20 gold and a Cap of Snugness.)

When the party goes to Elderberry Farms, Evelinn invites them in for tea and a story. She says to call her Evie when one of them calls her Evelinn. She tells the story about "The Beast Fall and My Fathers Folly."

The Party now has all the information they need to collect and rebuild the spear "Folly". Evie tells them they can use her fathers old forge out back if they can repair it.

After this, its 1300 hours on Saturday and the players have (mostly) free roam for the rest of the day. The players only need to find the den, make this clear. The Spear is optional.

The 3 thirds of "Folly"

First Third

Aquired after chatting with Evie about her Father. She takes it off her mantle and gifts it to Eugene with a wink.

Second Third

Located in The Mayoral Hall. Can be Aquired by either a Hiest or *Gag* Bureaucracy.

Bureaucracy *GAG* Route

Fingerpointing: Receptionist -> Lewis in mailroom -> Librarian in Archives-> 'Plank' in Security (not his name) -> Stan from accounting -> Bobby, Stans boss in accounting -> Mayor Mayre -> Darnell in paperwork -> Jerry in Jerry's Office ->Luise in The Kitchen -> Paul in Lumber Management -> "Mr. Mop" and "Mrs. Bucket" (She swears its bouquett.) -> Tommy in The Tube Network.

Paperwork: Party must sign 30 pages of paperwork in thier characters signatures. (IRL write signatures for the characters.)

Filing it into the Archives (The Paperwork): Take the Paperwork down to the Archives and attempt to submit it to a very chatty lirbarian who keeps forgetting what he's doing.

Find the Person with the key to the case that holds the Key to the Case with the second third of the Spear: Ask as many people as possible before they talk to Lewis who knows where The Museum Manager on Duty is. Lewsi will accompany the party to the office and ask the person on duty to open the case that holds the key to Folly's case.

Convince the person who has permission to Open the case with the second third of the Spear in it to open it: The players must convince the Museum Manager to open the case and give them The Spear. He will come up with as many ridiculus excuses as he can to not open it.

The Lock gets stuck: Marshall punches the case door and the door swings open.

HIEST ROUTE BB!

Purcahse either The Gaurd Routes from The Canopy or a Blueprint of The Mayoral Hall for 40 and 60 gold respectivly. Make it clear to the players that this will be dangerous. "HA! It's your funeral."

Sneak in. This can be done either via the windows in the entrance room or the gaurd tunnels under the hall.

At this point players are presented with the oportunity to steal a useless wonderfull item: The Monocle of Misunderstanding.

Either break the case or steal the spear and the case together, stealing the case requires a str cheak of 15 to pass while breaking the case takes a 10 but turns the alarm on.

Dodge the Traps, the Gaurds, the Medusae Camera's and the active living armor suits.

Escape through either the way the players came in, the front door or via the rarely used mail disposal chutes in the mail room (they lead to the river.).

Don't get caught by a gaurd patroll while holding the spear you will either need to escape them or kill them. Hide the spear until you need to reforge it.

Final Third

Q: do players have other 2/3rds of spear?

If yes: When the players approach Jacob Tillers grave they see a strange sight. A skeletal hand with glowing embers in the cracks of the bones is reaching up out of the graves soil, it clutches Folly's head. The player's can freely take it without even a slight effort. If they return, there is no trace of the hand.

If no: They must dig up his grave and pry the lip open (Req. a 16 str check and a crowbar). Oddly, the casket has a keyhole in the lid, it cannot be unlocked by any means and must be broken open by force.

Eugene refuses to participate and unless convinced will tell the gaurds about it. Marshall can be convinced but refuses to dig up the grave.

Finding and Fixing the Furnace.

Can Pay the Smith to do it. (50 Gold)

Can call in the favour from Foreman Paul to do it after solving the Murder at the Logging Express.

Finding The Beasts Den

Can be purchased from The Canopy for 80 Gold, 30 Silver and 2 Copper.

Exploration of the nearby woods (Getting a Nat100) will yeild the location.

Can be found in "The Oldest Letter." the final piece of Lost mail. It was written by Jacob Tiller and entails the location of The Beasts Den.

If the Skinwalker is captured, not killed. The Party may question it, if they give even the slightest indication that they're hunting The Beast, it will help them. It will say where the den is, in exchange for killing The Beast and leaving the Skinwalker alone.

Can be Figured out by sifting through rumours and picking out grains of truth.
